This entire game can be played in either two player local co-op or four player online co-op. I was thrilled to see that they had both. Once you are online you can jump right into a friend’s world and start exploring together. There are hours of content in this game and it could be a while before I put this down. From the ease of combat, to the colorful worlds, all the way down to the gameplay loop of finding new portals, it’s no wonder that you can see a whole day go by without even knowing it.

Portal Knights is a spiritual successor to Minecraft that thankfully works well and creates an enjoyable experience on the Nintendo Switch.

A solid porting with a good amount of content. Portal Knights for Nintendo Switch is improved by the new touch system, and despite some frame rate issues is able to provide a lot of fun for several hours.

Unlike most Minecraft clones, Portal Knights delivers an experience wholly its own and for the most part it succeeds. Playing through the main story is a highly enjoyable experience and for those who are looking for a new sandbox to build in. The home worlds allow the freedom to craft to your heart's content. It's even better with friends, too. The inclusion of co-op was a very wise choice and gives yet another element to elevate it above its competitors.

Portal Knights uses Nintendo Switch to cover some of its failures and become a better game than the original one. A videogame that, without being perfect, it entertains the player for plenty of hours.

Portal Knights is a Minecraft-alike with a lot of personality and a lot of promise, but in its current state, I just couldn’t enjoy it. It feels bloated in places, empty in others, and just can’t compare to other games in the block-placing, creation “genre”. Fun for a while, but outstays its welcome too quickly.

The thing I like aboutI tried the game earlier at Steam - I recall as 'Early Access' - graphics is as good, really stunning on the Switch. The thing I like about Portal Knights is the graphics, the traveling concept between worlds (with friends local/online), really awesome. The game has so much more than Minecraft. Portal Knights got "things" to do....so it's not only crafting, mining lol - also adventuring the interstellar worlds, bosses, awesome soundscape ect. I recommend! The game performs very well in handled also + local split-screen or wireless or online, thumbs up! Expand

10/10. This game is awesome! Exactly what I wanted from a coop rpg (which there need to be more of). Great crafting and adventuring :)

i had to ding this a bit for its controls, which just seem overcomplicated unless you're using the touch screen in handheld mode.

I also notice some framerate issues around grassy blocks, and the clip plane is woefully short.

It's still a GREAT game to kick around with on a rainy sunday, and both my boys enjoy the game immensely.

This is a shameless Minecraft rip off with a shield of graphics. if you support individuality, Minecraft, or a future for games, do not buy this.
