I'm only about 8 hours in but already I'm enjoying the game. I had been looking for a tactics-type game other than the Mario one after recently purchasing a Switch and for the money on eShop I'm happy with this. The loading times, whilst a bit longer than hoped don't detract from the gameplay and there isn't that much of it. Worth a buy if you like this type of game.

I think the game is really beautiful and pleasant. The only thing I miss in it is more developed development trees, but I can not fault the rest.

Would be 10/10 but marred a bit due to the loading times, menu interface, and occasional crash coupled with odd autosave windows.

Persona-esque structure; you have deadlines to meet objectives which is mostly a mix of going through dungeons and spending the day with your party members/vendors to go through their respective vignettes to power them up and increase party perks slightly.

Gameplay is a lot of fun; tactical in nature and if you try to knock out all the missions are appropriately difficult. Good variety in party, although towards midway I mostly stuck to my favorite ~5 and ignored all the rest. Some of the text RP is pretty cool, too. Gameplay is as hard or easy as you'd like, with sliders for increasing your damage dealt and reducing enemy damage. One bad crash had me burn through previously completed fights just to catch up.

Storyline is self aware but not cringingly so, akin to Disgaea1. Charming/entertaining. Good voice acting and art.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition will grab the player's attention thanks to its plot and marvelous humour featured throughout the game, reinforced by the marvelous voice acting and visuals. Unfortunately its combat system does not follow suit and the experience ends up being less accessible and enjoyable than it should, aggravated by immensely long loading times.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition is a mixed bag of an adventure. It is worth a visit but performance issues and dull gameplay mean it may not be worth a stay.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Regalia is a great game. It has everything you could ask for from a strategy RPG and then some. Unfortunately, it has a few technical and design issues that really hold it back from being as good as it could be, but it’s still hard not to recommend it.
