It's a beautiful, fun little game. The fighting strikes a nice balance between easy to learn with being complex enough to make winning a fight satisfying. I still wish there was something like a defend stance and something like class customisation, but on the whole I think the streamlining of attacking being combined with skills was fun.

The UI is the worst part, though. It's really

The UI is the worst part, though. It's really hard at times to tell what's highlighted, and not having the hover on the combat UI made it harder to learn what did what.

I found the loading screens to be annoying more because there were so many, not because each one was so long. If there was more to interact with in each area, especially in the personal bond quests, I don't think it would be as noticeable.

I would like this game a lot, seems like an interesting story, very nicely done graphics, great voice acting, but the loading times. Ugh. I feel like I'm back on a 90's console game. Loading between _every_ scene and even longer loads before combat. They simply ruin any interest I have in playing.

    Performance Issues:
Barely playable due to very long loading times at each actions. Laggy interface, does not feel responsive at all. Doesn't seem optimized.

    Design issues:
Few save spots makes it hard to switch to another game and back. Artificial game limits that hinders game customization.

    Art:
    Very nice.

    Writing:
    Pretty nice.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition will grab the player's attention thanks to its plot and marvelous humour featured throughout the game, reinforced by the marvelous voice acting and visuals. Unfortunately its combat system does not follow suit and the experience ends up being less accessible and enjoyable than it should, aggravated by immensely long loading times.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition is a mixed bag of an adventure. It is worth a visit but performance issues and dull gameplay mean it may not be worth a stay.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Regalia is a great game. It has everything you could ask for from a strategy RPG and then some. Unfortunately, it has a few technical and design issues that really hold it back from being as good as it could be, but it’s still hard not to recommend it.
