Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. He is joined by a new partner, Sheva Alomar, who lends her strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills to the mission. In order to survive, Chris and Sheva must work together to take on the challenges of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. Utilizing a revolutionary new 2-player co-op mode of gameplay, players assume control of either Chris or Sheva and experience Resident Evil in new ways. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom has players fearing the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games. Expand

As it stands, these are both really solid ports of some pretty fun video games from the last generation brought to portable life on the Switch. If you’re in the market for more Resident Evil on the go, then you’ll likely want to pick both up when you have a chance.

It may not be the best game in the series, but Resident Evil 5 is certainly a good game, where action is the key. Along the way it has lost the essence of survival horror and has fewer puzzles than previous titles, but it is still a great shooter with thrilling scenes.

Resident Evil 5 returns on Nintendo Switch ten years after its first coming, bringing all its strength and flaws. In the meantime, we've accepted its evolution in a real third person shooter, but its clunkiness remains intact in many aspects.

Bone of contention among fans, Resident Evil 5 is unexpectedly the best selling game of the franchise. Regardless of this, the Switch edition of the title is very satisfying, as it's quite as beautiful as the original game but in a portable device this time. It also contains all of the DLC and the multiplayer modes of the Gold Edition released on the other consoles on the market.

esident Evil 5 is a product of its time. It is also a product of Resident Evil 4’s time. The generation-defining strength of the latter pushed against the contemporary ideas of the former, creating a surplus of vaguely Resident Evil content masquerading around in 2009’s milieu of cooperative action games. Depending on your expectations, Resident Evil 5 either remains a blissfully cooperative version of Resident Evil 4 or a harbinger of the monstrosity that became Resident Evil 6.

Resident Evil 5 was received favorably when it first released in 2009, but playing it for the first time in 2019 I feel like it’s a disappointing step down from its excellent predecessor. Even the Switch port isn’t quite as good as RE4’s, running at an inconsistent framerate that never manages to hit 60fps—sometimes not even hitting 30fps. I had a good time playing through a chunk of the game online with a friend, but playing on my own was just dull. It’s probably true that RE5 was never going to live up to RE4’s legacy, but now, a decade after its original release, I think it even fails to live up to its own.

Also Sheeva AI is very bad, she get in the middle of my shoots and just get in the middle of everything. The story is nice tho, but i would have prefer that Chris and Jill were the ones who killed Wesker but well... Expand

Not really survival horror but more of a third-person action game with Zombies. Absolutely the low point of the series along with 6.

Skip this one (and 6) and play RE7 or the RE2 and RE3 remakes instead.
