Furthermore, the home console version will deliver additional content including a terrifying new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid Mode such as new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series. Raid Mode, which was first introduced to the series in the original version of Resident Evil Revelations, sees gamers play online in co-op mode or alone in single player taking on the hordes of enemies across a variety of missions whilst leveling up characters and earning weapon upgrades. The critically acclaimed survival horror title takes players back to the events that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, revealing the truth about the T-Abyss virus. Resident Evil Revelations features series favorites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, plus their respective BSAA partners - Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. The action begins on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the 'Queen Zenobia', where horrors lurk around every corner before players head for the mainland and the devastated city of Terragrigia. With limited ammo and weapons available, the race is on to survive the horror of Resident Evil Revelations. Expand

There is absolutely no denial that this game is very good, with a decent campaign to play through and an absolutely amazing online mode to sink hundreds of hours into. However, because it is this game's third incarnation on a Nintendo system, whether or not to purchase Resident Evil: Revelations will all come down to whether one wants to play it again, or whether or not it is their very first time. First-time players should not hesitate, as this is probably the best way to play this game - ever! Potential double- or even triple-dippers should simply consider what they are looking for. It is likely that the online mode won't be supported much longer on the older systems, and the Switch allows you to play it in the best conditions, save for the lack of means of communication with people met inside the game. Nothing can be taken away from how good the RAID mode is, though, so those who can't help but want more of it on the newest system shouldn't have any reasons to feel ashamed of themselves. It's a blast to blast oozes into oblivion.

I found Resident Evil Revelations to be a great fit for the Switch. The campaign does a great job of keeping the player on the edge of their seat, the Raid Mode is a fun bonus and a blast to play through, and the new motion controls feel very intuitive in handheld mode. The fact that it's an HD remaster of a 3DS game does hold it back a little, with inconsistent graphics and frequent loading rooms - but all in all it still feels great to play. Whether you've experienced it before or it's your first time playing, Resident Evil Revelations is a superb action/horror title that is worth exploring.

Stranded on a cruise ship with a bunch of zombies- evil lurking in dark places. Resident Evil Revelations brings a true sense of horror to the Nintendo Switch.

A great horror game in Nintendo Switch, that keeps the experience of the original but with interesting add-ons like the movement-based controls.

Resident Evil Revelations is played better than never before on Switch through a better resolution and motion controls.

Resident Evil Revelations on the Switch is a great campaign to run through, and a fun online mode to spend time with if you’re still hungry for more. It feels a little bit aged now, years on from its original release, but it plays better than ever on Nintendo Switch thanks to gyro aiming, high framerates, and a crisp, sharp resolution. Well worth jumping in for Resident Evil fans and anyone looking for a fun, handheld shooter campaign.

Of the two, I give the tip to the first Revelations, as that boat setting really is up there with the original Resident Evil’s mansion, and Resident Evil 0’s train as a distinctive and brilliantly designed environment. Otherwise I find these games to be unremarkable. Entertaining, but unremarkable.

Never played this before in any other console, so the switch release was more than welcome for me. Im more than 20 hours into the game and INever played this before in any other console, so the switch release was more than welcome for me. Im more than 20 hours into the game and I love it so far. performance is amazing on the switch. Game it feels like the old RE where you are struggling for bullets and new weapons. challenging.
After finishing the game I can say this is one of the best RE entries. is one of my favorites now next to RE3 nemesis and RE2.

Brought it digitally for 2,500 yen (down from 3000 yen with a 500 yen discount for connecting my Paypal account to the Nintendo eshop). JustBrought it digitally for 2,500 yen (down from 3000 yen with a 500 yen discount for connecting my Paypal account to the Nintendo eshop). Just completed the story mode today, after about 25 hours of play, not including all the hours I've put into the raid mode.

It's lots of fun. Deffo worth what I paid. Ship setting is spooky, graphics are decent enough, some of the vehicle mini games are fun. Story is rubbish, and puzzles are more annoying than difficult, but for the price overall I'd recommend it. I grew up with Resident Evil 2, and it reminded me of that, which is a good thing. Raid mode is good, but the later levels are too long and involve puzzles and mazes/swimming, which is annoying because I just want to run around shouting stuff. But it's something I'll probably keep coming back to.

I'd give it 7.5 out of 10, so I'll round that up to 8.

I've missed every other release of this game and I was super happy to see it arrive on Switch so I could finally get it.

It is a bit dated game of course, and not really a groundbreaking experience but I really like how it plays on the Switch. Never before have I played a shooter on joystick and not felt frustration. Motion controls are decisively good and it really makes going for head shots and even scanning for items in the game feel like a joy. If aiming seems too hard the difficulty options can also make your game less frustrating, offering plenty of slack in accuracy and supporting more casual style gaming.

This aspect really shines in the Raid-mode that sends you through the game areas with guns blazing for experience points, upgrade currency and weapon drops. Game play quality is very solid & steady and the linear nature in levels with auto-saving actually kind of suits the play style where you can just play for 10 minutes or 10 hours and later pick the game up again.

If you like RE series and perhaps haven't experienced Revelations before or just want something casual to play they do give you a good deal on the game. Buying either Revelations game will give you 20% off the other by the way!
