There’s just so much that Snack World does right for a dungeon crawler that even without having any sort of serious story it manages to be one of the best in the genre with the sheer fun variety it offers. Anyone looking for a brand new adventuring title should give Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold their time as it’s surprisingly fantastic.

Snack World: Dungeon Explorers is a game made with undoubted craft, full of humor and ready to pinch the strings of the collector hidden in each of us. The simple but not trivial action and the large number of secondary missions are, however, tormented by a rhythm that tends to weary in the long run and a lively, but technically only discreet, technical component. Remaining in the culinary sphere, Snake World won't be a chef's bite to eat, but if you're hungry you can tastefully fulfill it.

Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl - Gold is better than the sum of its parts. Some of those parts are frustrating, and some of them are a bit messy, but somehow, all of those parts come together to create a surprisingly pleasant and refreshing experience. Despite being laden with constant, unnecessary sexual innuendo, and despite being filled with systems upon systems of complicated menus and stats, Snack World manages to be fun above all else. And ultimately, that’s all you could really ask for.

There's a lot that I wanted to like about Snack World. Lite-dungeon crawling, a deep loot system, colourful visuals, quirky 'meta' humour – all the right ingredients are here for a staple dish in my personal video game cuisine. While it all looked great on the menu, though, what has eventually been plated and served is more like fast food than fine dining. It's still enjoyable, but it hasn't been made with the same love and care and can make you feel a bit uneasy.

Snack World finally comes to Europe with its latest version, fully equipped with dozens of hours of content. This is great at first glance, because if you like the game and you enjoy its mechanics, the enjoyment is just guaranteed. However, despite the well-executed multiplayer options and a huge variety of content, the overall experience comes out to be so repetitive after 20 hours or so, which is a pity as Level-5 doesn’t explore the gameplay options as much as it could have been.

Snack World really isn't my thing. As much as I am a fan of Level-5, the pitch of this one is out, and as such, too much of it falls flat. It's a satirical game that's trying too hard and if it was funny, then the jokes it makes would be directed at its own faults as a game. It's a workable dungeon crawler without being inspired, but unlike the rest of Level-5's library, this one is focused on being attractive to one demographic at the expense of just about everyone else. Where most other Level-5 games are a joy and delight, this one really felt too much like a slog.

If you ignore the presentation, there’s something in here for dungeon crawl fanatics, but you’re better off going with something like Darksiders Genesis for a far more enjoyable experience. Like Darksiders isn’t for the younger gamer in your life, neither is this. Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold is available now on Nintendo Switch.

Nothing about it is fantadtic, nothing is terrible. O.k. I lied, the camera is terrible some of the time. If you want a super entertaining grindfest of an action rpg dungeon crawler with instanced zones and a mediocre hub world with a large dose of pre-teen level humor, this is a safe bet. Be warned, the game is NOT kid safe unless your kids are allowed to rub feces on themselves, say @$$ and Goddamit that is. The game is actually a 7/10 but since metacritic allows people to just do review bombs, this might negate some of the idiots. Expand

ive been playing it with my wife since it came out and we havent been able to put it down. Tons of weapons or "Jaras" as they are called in the snack world, and even outfits where you can "overlay" with outfits you like visually incase u dont wanna get stuck with an outfit you only like for the stats!!! monsterhunter could truly learn from this game in that regard.

There's so much to do. The loot system is like a combo of a typical dungeon crawler; gathering weapons and some armour, mixed in with Monster Hunter; gathering tons of crafting materials to make armour, lots of helpful healing items, and the progression system is similar, plus it's randomized. Like any game of its genre, there is grinding to be done. Crafting is neat and you can upgrade your gear and get a lot of different equipment. Really adore the artstyle, the jokes, and the dungeons are many and fun to explore. Love the concept of the Snack buddies you can collect as helpful sidekicks (definitely recommend a healer type to get you more quest chests at the end). I encountered what seems to be a very rare bug where a random loot item will spawn outside of the dungeon map making it impossible to get. Happened to me only once so far in 20+ hours of playing. Overall definitely I recommend this gem of a dungeon crawler. Expand

I think the person who invented the words or decided on them was mega high, but the game is a lot of fun. It's not high speed or stressful and it's kind of like a monster hunter with good load times and much lighter in terms of materials. I'd really recommend it to anyone who wants a game with a lot of playability and relax. Expand
