Load your rocket resource blocks quickly and efficiently to beat the competition. But watch out – the shipping world is fierce! Your opponent can sabotage your work by stealing blocks, delivering punches or throwing you in the incinerator. As you deliver cargo to the far corners of the solar system, each of the planets, moons and asteroids you visit will present new challenges – from black holes to gravity to waves of lava. Please try not to die - it tarnishes our safety track record. StarBlox Inc. is a unique mash up of a puzzler and a brawler made in partnership with Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation. StarBlox Inc. is a neat game, but with a big problem when it comes to explaining things. The game's tutorial drags and for gaming novices, the mechanics and strategy will really not come naturally. There are many little things that you need to keep in mind to give you the edge in battle. Once you get the hang of the proceedings, though, it can become a highly competitive experience with each side fighting for total domination. The battle and puzzle combo is quite an adorable one that runs quite well on Nintendo Switch.

Still, minor shortcomings do not hinder StarBlox Inc. At its core, the game is an absolute delight. Fighting tooth and nail over individual puzzle blocks is a Tetris mod I never knew I needed. Now that I’ve experienced it firsthand, however, I cannot recommend it enough. While it comes up a bit short of all-time indie multiplayer classics like Ultimate Chicken Horse and Towerfall, Starblox Inc. is still a challenging and unique game that is extremely rewarding to learn. I can see it spending a long time in my local multiplayer rotation. The perfectly-struck balance between the slow build of filling out your board and the satisfaction of knocking your friends into oblivion allows StarBlox Inc. to shoot for and land among the stars.

StarBlox Inc. is a fun and unique little experiment of a game, let down only by the results of that experiment that don’t quite come together. At the same time. the sheer satisfaction that comes from victory helps overcome some of the fundamental flaws in the concept and the net result is an original, if convoluted, puzzle-fighter. Ultimately, this is a still an enjoyable title that gets a qualified recommendation.

StarBlox Inc. goes for a mix between puzzler and brawler that while not entirely unprecedented, is certainly welcome in the Nintendo Switch, where puzzle games had been going through a period of stagnation. While its audiovisual environment isn't the most stimulating, the game is very fun and involving and its multiplayer component adds an additional layer of enjoyment to the experience.

StarBlox Inc. is a perfectly enjoyable action puzzler that manages to balance reflex-based gameplay with on-the-fly puzzle solving. The core gameplay loop doesn't have much in the way of depth, but it's easy to pick up, and fun to play, especially in groups of four. Unfortunately, no online means that StarBlox has no real shelf life in spite of a surprisingly decent single player campaign. If nothing else, this makes for a decent couch multiplayer alternative to Puyo Puyo and Tetris.

Starblox Inc. offers a unique couch co-op puzzle-brawler experience that, unless your friends are extremely passive, won’t work that well for you. This is largely due to its unpolished controls and hit-or-miss accuracy issues.

The game controls very well once you get the hang of it (doesn't take long, maybe a few minutes). Your screen can get kind of busy, so it can be difficult to keep track of everything sometimes. But this game is extremely fun when you play with friends! The music is very exciting and really adds to the fun of couch gaming with friends.

The sarcastic narrator/announcer is a very nice touch.
