Sep 29, 2022Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is a game that has a lot of dialogue and interaction. The Nintendo Switch port feels quite polished, and the combat has a lot of depth and is rewarding.

Oct 10, 2022Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris feels like a long and tedious game. It tries to give freshness to the franchise and fails. However, suppose you are a fan of SAO. In that case, the installment is unmissable because it will make you nostalgic. On the other hand, if you want a dynamic RPG, the dialogues of this installment will immediately bore you, and the mechanics and missions will not entertain you enough.

Nov 14, 2022SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris tries to please all fans — whether light novel, anime or games. However, excess is the problem. Having so many resources available at the same time was not a good idea, as I got the impression that they don't communicate within the game.

Oct 24, 2022Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is too filled with issues to be anything worthy of being recommended to those who aren't hardcore fans of the series, and the Switch port, unfortunately, still has a lot of the existing issues seen in other platforms.

Sep 29, 2022Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris takes forever to get moving. By the time the training wheels come off, players will likely have switched off in frustration. Pacing is a big issue for the first half of the game, with hours spent in unskippable cutscenes or repetitive tutorials before the best features become available. There is a decent game locked away behind the multiple missteps and technical issues, and if you've got the requisite patience and high regard for the source material, there are things to like — most notably the smooth, engaging combat. The problem is that getting to it feels like work rather than play.
