Set in a fictional town named Lan Kong Town, which is modelled after Yilan in Taiwan, the story is centred around six high school students who form a band that eventually achieves international fame.

Gameplay is simple, requiring players to touch vertically falling notes that have hit a bar on the bottom of the screen.

Depending on the song, the number of lanes for the notes increases and they shift side to side, making the screen look as if it is dancing to the music.

There are over 100 songs in the library. Three difficulty levels Easy, Hard and Special are available. Players are able to choose difficulty levels according to their skill so they may enjoy all pieces.

A simply beautiful example of minimalistic elegance and functionality, refined to a near perfect degree.

As music rhythm games go, VOEZ is one of the best I’ve ever played, up there with the likes of Parappa The Rapper, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA X and Gitaroo Man.

In Switch’s launch lineup, this is the biggest surprise. A fascinating rhythm game that takes advantage of the touchscreen, sports a wide ranged soundtrack of almost 120 songs and an interesting art design.

VOEZ is a beautiful rhythm game with a generous supply of songs and gorgeous artwork that makes you want to keep going back for more. The rhythm gameplay feels accurate and fits the songs nicely for the most part, particularly in harder difficulties, with a nicely designed learning curve to allow players to get into the swing of things.

A surprisingly strong contender in the Nintendo Switch launch library, VOEZ is well worth its modest asking price for rhythm fans who need to scratch that IIDX itch.

VOEZ is an outstanding musical title, but the way the difficulty progresses as the story does can be frustrating for many players. Still, for its price, it's a good choice if you like the genre.

Voez makes its arrival on the Nintendo Switch as a rhythm game that features a wide selection of songs and making full use of the console's touchscreen. Those unaccustomed to this kind of games may find it repetitive and it can cause some physical discomfort after long periods of use, which along with a lack of a real progression system makes this a game aimed mostly at fans of the rhythm and music genre.

TheThe experience and atmosphere of this game has been amazing! The way this game presents itself is not like any rhythm game I’ve ever seen. The song variety in this game is giant, Around 150 songs to play. Plus each song has 3 different difficulties.

There is so much room to practice and improve your skills on this game. All the music is very enjoyable so far, haven’t run into a song I hated yet! The only issue is that there isn’t any leaderboards or comparisons with friends. Overall a beautiful, Outstanding game.

The selection of songs are a great variety but needs more songs in certain levels. The game needs a high score chart for the public to see. Since the game is world widely available, why not compare your skills with others and aim to be the top player of the game world wide.

The switch itself is decently size for the game to playable but sometimes I feel a bit cramped. Overall the familiar game mechanics are great like the mobile version.

Only the minor flaws that made me to rate this game a 9/10.

The game plays well and the majority of the songs are enjoyable- some are bizarre with pretty dog being a family joke now... However, the gameplay is good- compared to Theatrhythm, HarmoKnight and Love Live School Idol Festival the controls are unique and work well. The graphics, while minimalistic, are fine and suit the game. An online feature would be nice but with the amount of content- there really is not too much to complain about. I love it and Voez will keep me coming back for a very long time Expand

Around 30 songs have been added through software patches, and this was just what I needed in order to 100% the story. As usual with rhythm games, people that aren't good at rhythm will struggle with VOEZ because story progression is tied to performance. Expand
