Space Marine 2 is the ultimate Warhammer 40K experience. It perfectly captures the essence of 40K and transfers it into the action-adventure format. Its three game modes offer countless hours of gameplay and tons of customization options to look forward to. For Warhammer fans, this game is a must-play, and a perfect entry point for those uninitiated into the lore of 40K.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a sequel that builds on the legacy of Relic Entertainment. It does so by offering an exciting campaign that perfectly conveys that feeling of perpetual war and all the “grimdark” typical of its setting. Even without ever reaching the depth typical of other games in the same genre, the combat system infuses all the physicality and brutality of the Astartes. The optimization is also good, despite some small flaws that can be easily solved with a round of patches. The only let down is the soundtrack, light years away from the epicness of the first game.
I first served alongside my brothers on Gladius Prime. On that barren hellscape of a world, beset on all sides by the alien, the witch, and the heretic - I learned to subsist on contempt alone. It was there that I first saw the archenemy in all of its abominable defilement, ceaseless in the mad drive to quench the light of the Imperium.
I have battled on countless worlds since, living solely by bolter, blade, and conviction.
I now serve on the Battle Barge Resilient; a son of Dorn that has crossed the Rubicon. I fight the Eternal War without pause. Whether a said battle is won or lost, I am unfaltering in my resolve. My duty is not done. As Sigismund once said, "Our crusade may one day adopt another name, but it will never truly end. In the far future, there will be only war."
And so, I live to serve. I relish each clash and kill, and unsatiated, long for more. And when the day comes that one of these warp infested once-brothers should strike me down, I hope only that enough scraps of me remain that I can be interred as a Dreadnought. Because then, even in death, I will serve.
For my bolter is my my bible, its bullets are my hymns; and I know only war.
10/10 the space marine customization is lit
This is a game that refreshes our routine and is more fun with friends but can also be enjoyed alone. Although the graphics are impressive, there is room for improvement in terms of exploration and less repetitive missions. We can progress and improve our Marine to play our way. To fight boredom, a PvP mode is included that provides a unique experience but there is so much action happening that you won’t know what’s going on around you.
The most striking achievement of Space Marines 2 is the way the game presents the remarkable atmosphere of Warhammer 40,000 universe. Epic battles, insane architecture and oppressing tone, this game has it all.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the sequel we have been waiting for so long, nothing more and nothing less. An evolution of the first chapter in every respect, capable of engaging us in furious battles against endless hordes of enemies, embracing the mechanics of an improved and spectacular combat system.
While not without its flaws, Space Marine 2 is a solid third person shooter that expands on the legacy of its predecessor with some cool story moments for Titus and his men, and plenty of fun to be had in dealing with the deadly tyranids and the other enemies of humanity, either in the campaign or in the other game modes.
I love this game! I was hyped before release and for me it lived up.
The story catched me and i am totally into the operations mode. So far i have played close to 120 hours and its still fun. I haven't touched the vs multiplayer yet, because i am not into competetive gaming.
The most enjoyable part for me is the combat system.
Total recommedations. For the emperror!
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 delivers thrilling combat and engaging gameplay, with missions that are a standout highlight. The story is solid, but it’s disappointingly short.
Visually, the game is stunning, capturing the grim and epic Warhammer aesthetic perfectly, but it’s hampered by notable performance issues. The side content is sparse and underwhelming, leaving little to do outside the main missions. While the developers have promised future updates, the current offering feels incomplete.
The PvP multiplayer mode is lackluster, becoming repetitive after just a few matches. The PvE mode, while initially fun, suffers from excessive grind and a lack of content, leading to boredom over time.
Despite its flaws, the core gameplay shines, and with updates, Space Marine 2 has the potential to become a truly great experience. For now, it’s a solid but flawed addition to the Warhammer universe.
It's a fun game for 6-10 hours. Then, you spend your time grinding to gain tiny, incremental upgrades. hours to get another meter of range. Same levels over and over. Not worth $70 at all.
The game's solo campaign is just a short 9-10 hour game mechanics tutorial for the "endgame" (if you can call it that) pve and pvp, and has a completely forgettable and very generic, predictable story. I've recommended to my friends that they only get the game when they can get it at 50% off. The game overall is VERY overrated and gets repetitive extremely fast.
At the time writing this review, the game has horrible server issues. Disconnects and such, match making not working etc etc... This has been the case since the launch.
SummaryThe galaxy is in peril. Entire worlds are falling. The Imperium needs you.
Embody the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine, the greatest of the Emperor's warriors. Unleash deadly abilities and an arsenal of devastating weaponry to obliterate the relentless Tyranid hordes.
Hold at bay the horrors of the galaxy in epic battle...
