Games Master UKJun 16, 2015You've never played anything like it, and you'll desperately wish for more when you're done. Essential. [July 2015, p.76]
-
Apr 8, 2015It's expensive for a downloadable game, but the experience is definitely worth it, thanks to a great visual work, better audio and many gameplay innovations.
-
Apr 22, 2015It’s a game that Wii U owners simply need to experience, and one which other developers need to take note of when creating software for Nintendo’s unique console.
-
Apr 10, 2015Finally a game designed to truly showcase what the Wii U's unique feature set can do.
-
Apr 10, 2015It all culminates in an end-game cutscene that I wouldn't dream of spoiling, except to say that it's a seamless riff on the combination of virtual social intimacy and bland corporate indifference that is the Miiverse.
-
Apr 9, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a must-have for anyone with a Wii U. It utilizes the Gamepad in ways that few games have before, and truly feels like a unique, yet fun experience.
-
Apr 6, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is an indie title with a $20 price tag, and that may make some would-be purchasers leery of the investment. I can say with full confidence that the price tag is not only justified, but might even be too low.
-
Apr 4, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a game that can only work on the Wii U. Its two-screen experience is exactly what the system was designed for and the result is a unique breath of fresh air that might actually force player to hold that breath in certain situations.
-
Apr 2, 2015Afordable Space Adventures is one of the best Wii U showcases. It uses the Wii U Gamepad as no other game has done before and it offers a bunch of intelligent puzzles and situations that will force you to think (and use all the spacecraft abilities) before act. It also offers a great atmosphere, light effects and a very, very enjoyable local multiplayer.
-
Apr 10, 2015One of the best surprises of 2015 so far, Affordable Space Adventures is something more than a 2D digital indie, it's an experience of exploration in a hypnotic, alien world with a unique control system that turns Wii U's GamePad into a full spaceship panel control. Great design, puzzles and a very powerful experience, if you want to be challenge or just feel like a explorer in a new world, just buy it. A must have for Wii U owners and a lesson in the face to the big companies to learn how to use the pad in its full capability.
-
Apr 21, 2015One of those rare games that takes advantage of the unique Wii U features on its GamePad. Besides that, an interesting and fun adventure that can be considered cheap.
-
Apr 17, 2015Affordable Space Adventures shows exemplary how you should use the Wii U gamepad to enhance a gaming experience. A classic arcade experience transported into a new era.
-
Apr 17, 2015A clever, fascinating exploration game based on puzzle solving. It's brief and it doesn't offer any replay value, but it's also different from every other game around.
-
Apr 15, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a great eShop release, and a lesson on how developers should approach the Wii U GamePad.
-
Apr 15, 2015A "noir" adventure game that stimulates our minds with an eerie atmosphere and unique puzzles. The use of the GamePad puts other Wii U games to shame, including first party titles.
-
Apr 13, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is an indie title that offers a charming mix between stealth and puzzle, with an excellent use of the GamePad, but we have to be honest, and admit that the game really shines when played with your friends.
-
Apr 9, 2015One part hysterical, one part horrifying, all parts engrossing: "Affordable Space Adventures" is every bit worthy of consideration as the next addition to your Wii U digital library.
-
Jun 8, 2015If you were looking for a game that really offered the unique gameplay Nintendo was promising for its console, then look no further than Affordable Space Adventures, whose blend of puzzle and stealth sequences is as enjoyable as intoxicating. It is over way too soon, but remains a great showcase for the GamePad capabilities.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineMay 27, 2015Affordable Space Adventures perfectly encapsulates why the Wii U GamePad needed to exist in the first place. [Issue #15; May/June 2015, p.29]
-
Edge MagazineMay 20, 2015Collaborative play transforms the challenge. [June 2015, p.122]
-
Apr 30, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a unique experience that you can only find on the Wii U, and it utilizes the system in a thoughtful and creative way. It’s great to see what small developers are doing with the system, and I hope that more games like this come out in the future.
-
Apr 21, 2015Are you looking for a journey into the digital unknown that won't break the bank? If so, then is the one that you should embark upon.
-
Apr 21, 2015Affordable Space Adventures unfurls in an area between the illusory promise of commercials and the murkier mental challenges posed by the game’s world.
-
Apr 20, 2015Overall, Affordable Space Adventures is a journey well worth embarking on, especially with a few friends.
-
Apr 16, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a great example of a game that takes advantage of everything Wii U has to offer. There are a few drawbacks but this is the best use of the GamePad to date.
-
Apr 16, 2015It puts the Game Pad to good use, and does so in a fun and original way.
-
Apr 9, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a great puzzle game, and it uses the GamePad in interesting ways that don’t feel like gimmicks. It shows Nintendo isn’t the only studio capable of doing interesting things with an additional screen. It’s nice to see the Wii U become home to a truly exclusive title trying to do something different.
-
Apr 7, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a brilliant ride from beginning to end. however, the game can understandably be overwhelming for the solo player and it can cause a lot of stress while playing through the game.
-
Apr 6, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is a unique game that can only conceivably work this well on the Wii U, though the 3DS could be a decent alternative in future.
-
May 13, 2015With that being said, Affordable Space Adventures still is a fine puzzle game. If general puzzles aren't your thing, this may be the type of puzzle game you're looking for
-
Apr 13, 2015If you’re measuring with the typical genre yardstick, Affordable Space Adventures isn’t a particularly great or noteworthy puzzle game, but as an exercise in designing to the Wii U’s strengths and delivering an entertaining, one-of-a-kind co-op experience, it’s a pretty solid success.
-
Apr 9, 2015One of the best uses of the Wii U GamePad so far and one of the most atmospheric games of the year, even if it does run out of new tricks before the end.
-
Apr 26, 2015Affordable Space Adventures is an example of a game which is competent and creative enough to keep the player focused on it for a while, but whose technical limitations, slow pace and lack of compelling rewards turn it into a rather dull effort after a certain amount of time.
-
Apr 21, 2015Affordable Space Adventures fails to deliver a world that demands to be explored; it is far too generic and lacking in fun puzzles, instead only producing too many a tedious moment. Patience is a virtue with this one.
-
Apr 16, 2015The use of the gamepad is by far the most enjoyable aspect of Affordable Space Adventures. In fact, it's so well done that it's close to being the best use of the gamepad on the Wii U so far. Sadly the game is held back by some serious game design choices, and while it's still playable, it's just not the kind of game that deserves to be remembered as a classic.
-
Jun 2, 2015Even though it has interesting puzzles and charming art direction, Affordable Space Adventures feels like a missed opportunity.
