At its core, Mario Party 10 is just another Mario Party game, but it is also the best one. Smash Brothers and Mario Kart are superior “gamers’ games”, but for partying with friends or family members who only play casually, you can’t get much better than this.

Mario Party 10 is definitely the best episode of the series and an instant buy if you have a Wii and some friends to play with.

I was pleasantly surprised by Mario Party 10. I expected another disaster after learning of its similarities to 9, however they have added enough to make 10 rather enjoyable even through the Bowser love.

Nintendo, instead of developing an experience specifically created for Nintendo Wii U, decided to show in Mario Party 10 the same formulas of the previous titles, finishing inexorably to offer something already seen.

Mario Party 10 is a packed game. With three main game modes, tons of mini-games, and Amiibo support there’s lots to do. Unfortunately Nintendo chose to continue to dumb the game down to an uninteresting board-fest broken up by only a couple of mini-games.

Like the dusty old Monopoly board buried in the back of your closet, Mario Party 10 offers familiar, predictable enjoyment, although the fun factor really boils down to who you’re playing with more than the game itself.

When playing a good skill-based minigame it can be a blast, but these moments are far too fleeting. It's a fun game to stick on when you've got company round from time to time, but don't overdo it or it won't be long before people stop accepting your party invites.

I was expecting to be a bit disappointed after hearing all the other reviews, but it really exceeded my expectations. If you stop focusing so hard on the few things it lacks from previous games, you will see how much this game does right. The minigame quality is the best I've seen, graphics are great, and tons of subtle improvements that really add up to a fantastic experience (minigame instruction pages now contain video clips, etc).

The amiibo mode is actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be considering how small the board is. It is very reminiscent of the classic mario party 1 gameplay style, and there are enough complexities to this mode that it actually does end up being fairly skill based (you can even select the minigame pack for this to be "no luck"). Negative dice roll blocks, warp pipes, swapping board pieces, powerup tokens, minigames after every round with legitimate reward values all add up to a great time.

For the people who have played the other recent Mario Party games like 8 and 9 and were hoping that 10 tried to change the series around willFor the people who have played the other recent Mario Party games like 8 and 9 and were hoping that 10 tried to change the series around will be sadly disappointed. Mario Party 10 is sadly more of the same with board layout and tiles being extremely similar to past games. The mini games in 10 are quite fun tho, some much better than others and are a nice break from the rest of the game. They still have 2v2 , 1v3 and free for all mini games and Bowser will show up often to rain on your parade. Some of the more frustrating elements have been toned down in 10 like Boo stealing your stars over and over but that doesn't mean the game is without it's headaches, You can still go from first to last or last to first in a few turns with blind luck witch can be easily frustrating. Mario Party 10 is a fun game for a few rounds but after 2 or 3 times around the board you will find yourself, well...bored. Games like Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 seem to do a much better job for games to play with friends. Fans of the Mario Party Series should try to find themselves of number 8 or check the Nintendo E-Shop for some of the classic Mario Party titles. Expand
