Still, players looking for an atmospheric puzzler with some inventive gimmicks should find plenty to enjoy with most of this title, regardless of these hiccups.

Midnight is a small gem that hopefully future sequels might expand upon and showcase this games unique quality in a bigger spectrum.

Midnight feels like a quick and dirty port of Angry Birds, reminiscent of the Atari 2600 port of Pac-Man. In fact, that is the best way to describe Midnight.

Unfortunately that was a mistake I would like to encourage other people to not make.

Midnight has two things going for it. First, a pretty background image. Second, a soothing music score. Everything else is a hohum humdrum implementation of golf/minigolf on par with you found in those "1000 games!" shareware CDROMs on clearance at Wal-Mart for a buck in 1998. Oh, except half the levels are designed by a masochist that hates you and refused to set a safe word.

If it wasn't for the cruel levels of precision demanded of you mixed in with more straightforward and forgiving challenges, this game would be mediocre. But as the designer clearly had no interest in making a rounded, fun experience you really shouldn't throw $2 and give it a chance.
