"It’s packed with content, and even in the later hours I was thrown into areas I had yet to discover. Whether you choose to explore, race, or compete with friends, there’s a home for you in Fairhaven."

"With the new (improved) control system and slight increase in visual quality, it would be safe to say that Wii U owners are getting the best experience out of Most Wanted - even if it is six months behind."

"This is a "racer" that beyond presenting a great identity, really messes with emotions and truly defines the illegal and fast racing. It is simply an essential game."

"Easily the best third party title currently available on the Wii U and the best version of the game to grace any console. As a nice bonus you also get the DLC included which was seen on other consoles, entitled Speed Pack. A must buy to show off the Wii U’s graphical capabilities and for anyone who loves racing games. If you want the best Need for Speed experience, play it on the Wii U. "

"Probably a must-have for fans of the genre. Even though it doesn't make the most of Wii U's unique features, it's as good as the other console versions, and even better in some aspects."

"A great conversion of one of the best driving games available today. It´s the finest console version too."

"Need for Speed: Most Wanted is the multiplatform title that Wii U owners deserve: one that has been given time and dedication by a developer with excellent technical skills, which shows the Wii U is more than just a late entry into last generation hardware."

"Most Wanted U is undoubtedly the best console version of EA's racing game. Besides the great step forward from a technical point of view, the various interface tweaks will improve the immediacy of use. Too bad for the small number of players online."

"While these new additions may have imbalanced Most Wanted U in some respects, they’ve also created a sandbox of greater possibilities and accessibility."

"Delivers on every level. It's fast, fun, and absolutely beautiful, with an open-world design that creates a real feeling of freedom to go with the sense of speed. There's a staggering amount of content, with races to run, cars to find and mods to unlock, and the unique online multiplayer adds heaps of replay value."

"While the controls are technically inferior to the 360 and PS3 version due to the lack of analog buttons on any Wii U control method, they still work really well and don’t make the game hard to control – it just takes some time to get used to controlling a modern racer with purely digital buttons."

"Even if you're an old hand at Most Wanted at this point (my SpeedPoint total across Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions was already a ridiculous amount), the ability to control the traffic or cops, and the ability to easy locate hidden cars are worth revisiting Fairhaven. Criterion's also used the extra time to make the Wii U the best-ooking console version, complete with textures from the PC release and a few tweaks to the way night and day look in game."

"A massively entertaining racer that grabs and runs with the power of the WiiU. It's tough, but we're Nintendo gamers. We eat tough for breakfast. [Apr 2013, p.80]"

"It’s easily the best third-party port on the console right now, and as a result, should be racing to the top of every Wii U owner’s most wanted list."

"Need for Speed Most Wanted is an expertly tuned and turbocharged port that brings a superior experience to the Wii U. The game is just as good, even better than the other versions, the new Wii U features are fun and best of all it runs like a dream on Nintendo’s new console. "

"Need for Speed: Most Wanted U is a must-have racing game for those who only own the Wii U."

"Because you'll have access to most cars to begin with, Most Wanted U can be slightly overwhelming without providing you with a good starting point. The exploring also gets shoved to the background quite significantly. It soon turns out that this makes for a better game though, that provides you with more freedom as a player. The wingman-functions allow Fairhaven to be conquered with a friend, but these are too experimental to really make Most Wanted U succeed as a co-op game. Still, this is the best version of an already great racing game."

"All in all, Need for Speed: Most Wanted U is the standout game on the Wii U for racing, and probably one of the better games available on the console right now. It does have some faults, but is still an excellent example of the Need for Speed universe."

"Criterion Games proved last October that Need for Speed: Most Wanted had some quality race work. But things can always be better. The Wii U version provides all the fun from the original game but in a greater and more complete package."

"For those that don’t already own the game, this is without a doubt the best package available, but I have to imagine that audience is significantly small. It also lacks enough new to warrant double-dipping for those that already own the game on another platform."

"Most Wanted... and needed, to finally prove what Wii U can do by flexing its graphical muscles and capitalizing on its GamePad screen. An adrenalinic arcade racer by Criterion that shows the right criteria for developing Wii U ports in future."

"This edition of the game has many of the components that made the title successful on the other systems, and more, but the behind-the-wheel experience puts it in second place."

"The best multiformat Wii U game so far, even if the improvements are mostly minor and the underlying game still lacks personality."

"I suppose the gamepad is a valuable way to look at the map without calling up a fullscreen map view. But mostly, it’s a sadly missed opportunity in an otherwise great racing game."

"While it looks superb and is welcome in situations when your significant other wins the rights to the TV, the split-second reactions needed in the packed-to-the-gills streets on the small screen will have you pining to get the action back on the big one."

"Overall, it's not worth a double dip if you own the game on another system, but if you have a younger child and/or are really interested in jumping in, I do highly recommend the Wii U version."
