-
The puzzle platforming design is very clever while never becoming too frustrating for the player.
-
Overall Despicable Me has very good ideas which work well, but it is not as polished as we would like.
-
Relative to the $40 price tag, there isn't a whole lot of game here. This would be a solid buy in the $10–15 range, and an acceptable one at $20.
-
While its main components aren't bad, the whole thing's repetitive and ends up evening out with about as many flaws as it has positive features.
-
With better controls and collision detection this would have a pretty decent Wii game – especially considering how little is expected of this sort of licensed offering. As it is, I'd expect only fans of the film or puzzle-game devotees to consider this a worthwhile purchase – and even then, perhaps only after a couple of months when it can be found in the bargain bin.
-
Nintendo PowerUnfortunately, all of the goofy personality of this movie tie-in is quickly trampled by irritating level designs and an inconsistent difficulty curve. [Sept 2010, p.90]
