Nintendo GamerSimplistic and repetitive and not at all realistic, but quite endearing all the same. [Christmas 2009, p.61]
-
Despite EA’s consideration of the previous title’s flaws, the experience in SimAnimals Africa is coming short. First impression and atmosphere are good, but then boredom kicks in. Petting is a chore and there’s not enough stimulus to keep going. A lack of depth and the repetitive nature of the minigames are to blame. There’s a base to make a good animal sim, but that’s all there is to say.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKDoesn't have the mettle for a sustained run in the first team. [Christmas 2009, p.98]
-
SimAnimals Africa has the groundwork for a good wildlife game, but there's not enough here. There are too few animals, and just not enough actually gameplay make the title compelling.
-
Nintendo PowerUnfortunately, the game still isn't terribly compelling. [Dec 2009, p.84]
-
At the end of the day die-hard pet simulator fans will enjoy the game, young children might get a kick or two out of it for a little while but we can't see it sticking in the long haul.
-
It's a sad day when you're forced to play a game like this, at this time of year. It's actually pretty shocking that a studio would release a title this crappy during the high-point of any gamers year. There's very few things in this title that are anything near decent, and it all amounts to a really poor game. Stay away!
