    Sniper Elite is a really cool Third Person action game on the Nintendo Wii. The game convinces with an authentic setting, cool graphics and sound effects and a nice 2-player-co-op mode. Unfortunately, the bad controls diminish the fun.

    Sniper Elite on Wii is a very good sniper simulation, plagued only by a lousy porting job. I happen to also own an original XBox version and I was very disappointed that the Wii version was actually a step backwards. The biggest issue are the controls. The wii motion controls feel very gimmicky and clunky. Although aiming is easier with the WiiMote, moving your character, especially in tight spaces, is quite difficult. Most of the gesture controls are poor at best. You'll know what I mean if you'll try planting TNT or change the time on a bomb. Frustration will quickly set in. Not having an option to use a classic controller is unacceptable, in my opinion. Another big issue are the graphics, particularly during the bullet-time sequence. It's pretty clear that whoever was responsible for this port, couldn't optimize this game for Wii's limited hardware. Serious graphical artifacts like disappearing textures and geometry are way too common in this version. This is pretty bad considering that this game ran just fine on PS2. Also, don't be fooled by the mention of "extra content and features" in this version. The extra content boils down to a single lousy mission that feels like a cheap hack. The Wii version also only allows 2 save spots per profile. So, don't expect many opportunities to save right before an impressive shot, so you can show it to your friends later. I am pretty sure other versions allowed more saves. Expand
