  1. Launch of the Screaming Narwhal offers some of the best adventure gaming we've seen in some time, even topping Telltale's recent quality releases.

Monkey Island is indeed back with a bang and Telltale once again shows why it is currently one of the best in the business for churning out high quality adventure episodes on a regular basis.
  3. A great title that both pays tribute to the series and takes it somewhere new.
  4. The queen of the adventures 3D didn't disappointed in the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island, doing justice to the classical series, the title should last about 4 hours with its various puzzles. With perfect gameplay for the genre and intriguing story, the game is a must for fans new and old style. Some may consider a problem that, unlike Strong Bad, all the chapters need to be downloaded for complete the story -- something that would cost 5000 points -- or the price of a regular game.
  5. While The Screaming Narwhal is merely an introduction, and provides no clear conclusion, it's still a fun adventure that fans of the series will enjoy.
  6. Serves as a great start for this five-part series. While it doesn't contain much story-wise, it more than makes up for it by setting up the future episodes, especially considering how this chapter ends.
  7. Tales of Monkey Island is a great new chapter in the Monkey Island-series. It's a fun addition to the episodic games that Telltale Games offers and will satisfy the hunger of fans of the series. It's only a shame that the quality of the original series never will be achieved again.

Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1 is a humorous point-and-click adventure much like Telltale Games' previous offerings. The gameplay and Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1 is a humorous point-and-click adventure much like Telltale Games' previous offerings. The gameplay and controls are well done. However, the graphics are slighty outdated yet colorful and the frame rate suffers just a bit. Load times are slightly longer than desired but I can live with that. All in all, Launch of the Screaming Narwhal is a solid effort and leaves me wanting more. Bring on Chapter 2! Expand
