Boring! Really disappointed in this game. I thought this game would step up to the next level over Black Ops. I was very wrong. Treyach's black ops is so much better than this. This requires no strategy. Just keep on running and shooting. Plus the menu is much more complex. Black Ops is so much simpler. It's been said many times and I'll repeat it, MW3 is the same as the last one. This game has almost no innovation and is part of the problem with modern video games and the video game industry as a whole. I was really expecting this game to be at the very least better than Black Ops. It's not. In every aspect of the gameplay it isn't even close to COD4 or MW2. COD4 set the bar extremely high and maybe people tend to expect something as gamebreaking and epic as that. And though MW2 has it's share of mods/hacks, etc, IMO there is no better multi-player interface than MW2. The sound,I was really expecting this game to be at the very least better than Black Ops. And though MW2 has it's share of mods/hacks, etc, IMO there is no better multi-player interface than MW2. The sound, realism and the maps are very diverse. As far as the MW3 campaign, it lacks depth and innovation and tells a story that is similar to the previous titles in the series. Step outside the box. Look at Batman: Arkham City. Now THAT is how your follow up one of the best games for the 360 with a sequel. As far as the multiplayer.....I logged in over 10k team deaths in MW2 and had a k/d over 2.00, played maybe 100 or so in black ops because it really seemed like an Atari interface. This multiplayer has the same feel as black ops, so if you liked that MP then you'll like this. It's very micky mouse in a way. Seems more like a kids game then an epic online MP. There is really no "tactic" per say in this multiplayer. Everyone seems to use a rush loadout. The maps are very linear. I'm finding that I unload almost a full clip into someone and he shoots me once and I'm dead. WTF? Or, the guy sees me and I'm instantly dead with no chance to react. I realize that lag or connection speed can be an issue but thought that dedicated servers would solve the problem. Sledgehammer did a horrible job IMO with the whole MP interface, maps, visuals and sound. Where is the "old guard" at IW.......ohhh yeah it's Respawn. Really can't wait for their first shooter and maybe this franchise will be a thing of the past. I hope I'm wrong because I've really enjoyed it over the years. I just won't buy another COD game unless the reviews are clearly a newly created renaissance that brings us back to the glory days of this series.

To be honest......I'm going back to COD4 and MW2 MP. The last two games make me feel as if this franchise hit its peak long ago. One thing is for sure.........we are the consumers have been sucked into the series and the only people are benefiting from it are the pub's and dev's in record sales, meanwhile we're stuck with a nice door stop of a game.

Top 5 Reasons Why I Dislike MW3: Multiplayer

    1. Spawning: In core, it seems as if you can't get more than three kills without somebody on the other team spawning around the corner from you. I have repeatedly watched myself kill another player, they spawn, and then they kill me, all in the time allotted in a kill-cam. The spawn-delay should be incorporate into all core game modes or completely revamp the spawning system like Brink or Battlefield 3.

    2. Inconsistency: You can kill somebody with 4 shots or less to the chest or waistline with almost any weapon, sometimes. I constantly get hit-markers over and over again and then my opponent pops back up and shoots me twice and I'm dead, and spawning around the corner. The stopping power perk allowed a variety of weapon use. I could sacrifice my original power for accuracy or double up on power. Now its just the stronger weapon wins, no matter how accurate you are. 3. Maps/Camping: These new maps look amazing, but that's all they are; something nice to look at. In multiplayer these maps are breeding grounds for camping players. Its so cluttered that people can hide behind almost anything and get there accolade, emblem, and title for being in the same spot the longest. On some maps, if the team puts up a semi adequate defense, it is impossible to flank them, Outpost and Arkaden are perfect examples. Hardcore was my sanctuary from this but its the worst now.

    4. Knifing: On my full green bar connection screen, I'm witnessing myself have the upper hand lunging to get my stab, but no, epic fail on my part. A quick side step and a few bullets or a knife in my back and I'm on the floor. Once again knifing is useless unless your enemy's back is turned. If you run into somebody you might get lucky and get them with the swiping motion of turning and hitting the knifing button at the same time we all love. Personally, I think the game would be better off without the knife in multiplayer or adopt the Halo way of close combat with a little changes of course.

    5. Audio Effects: You can't turn off the game music for some odd reason. The music deafens and drowns out all aspects of the game when something important happens. The sound of the weapons are disappointing, the sound effects in MW2 sounded much more realistic.

I think I'll be switching to Battlefield 3 while my hours of waiting in line, anticipation, and excitement collect dust in its case.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's start off by saying a few things. This game was incredibly hyped, and both high and low expectations for this game arose. This review outlines my final opinion on this pile of mediocre **** so let's begin.

    1. A Modern Warfare 2 Clone
It's almost the exact same game as Modern Warfare 2. Just look at eveything (title screen, the gameplay, weapons, levels ect.). Previous installments in the franchise at least had more variety and differences between each game; this pile of **** is a downright disgusting and blatantly inexcusable clone.

    2. The game is further proof of Activision tiresome efforts to milk the series.
The series is getting milked raw, and so far, the milk is curdling up into a rancid pile of moldy **** A new installment every year? Don't be ridiculous, Activision. 3. The Survival Mode reeks of ass.
Survival Mode is yet another ****ty addition to the franchise, and is inferior in almost every way to Nazi Zombies.

    4. The Campain mode should be cut out of the game (the series even) altogether.
The Campaign Mode is yet again the same linear garbage, with barely any variety or enjoyment to be had. The same can be said for almost every modern COD game. Nuff said.

    5. COD: Elite: a useless addition to the series, that shouldn't exist in the first place.
COD: Elite itself is a clone of other services, and the fact you have to pay for such a useless and gimmicky addition to the game, is more irrefutable proof that Activision is milking those **** raw. Not to mention, the service not being included as part of the game, made an already lackluster clone even more similar to it's predecessor. The integration with Facebook further proves that Activision is tageting the series towards casual gamers.

    6. Little retarded fraghead kids. Just look at your typical modern-day COD gamer. A nooblet, casual gamer fraghead kid, that loves shouting out retarded insult in the mic, and thinks that he's such a man at the game, when in reality he fails hard (noob), and has been fooled by the amount of awards this game spews out.

    7. Campers When it comes to the modern warfare franchise, people had been complaining about camping since day one, and meanwhile the problem still remains in the game (as it is a clone of MW2, what did you expect -_-). A ****ty spawning system, and cheap ways to get kills, not to mention the ease at obtaining killstreaks, just futher encourages camping.

    Conclusion:
Stay away from this game if your a real gamer, and not some dimwitted **** All the points above are reasons significant enough to end one's decision in purchasing such a tremendously overhyped and ****ty game.

The game is extremely mediocre and average, and I would have given it a 5/10, but from all the negatives I listed above, it just further drags the score down to...
    *drumroll*

Way too many open lines, hidden side doors and passageways that realistically makes absolutely no sense and also there's too much crap lying around which obstructs simple general movement and makes making a quick getaway almost impossible if your in close quarters and being shot at. Whats even more annoying is that in a lot of instances you recover (Reload/Wait for damage to wear off) from a firefight only to be shot in the back by the opposing team who just spawns conveniently just a few feet away.
At the end of the experience pretty much your either too scared to move out of fear for being shot in the side or back or you sit there and have someone spawn behind you and get you from a side door.
I am acutely aware camping is frowned upon but for more deliberate assault rifle players like myself who like to slowly move around the map using the stick and move approach and not running with a smg within a pack of 3 to 4 people this game is a non starter. If you cannot be allowed time to retreat to somewhat safe spots on the map for a few seconds to lick your wounds and reload then i think your maps need some work done to it. Additionally, the icing on the cake is the fact that there is no immunity when you spawn. Probably there was never any spawn immunity in the previous cod's i dont know but i have never been spawn killed in previous cods as much i have been in this game. It appears to be a regular thing to be able to spawn kill at will while in Black ops the only time i can remember being ever spawn killed was on its smallest map (Nuketown) and tactical insertions were involved.
I have no problems with Black Ops and MW2 but for MW3 I think you guys missed the mark by a longshot.

The positive, I really enjoyed the campaign, it felt epic, plenty of twists and turns along the way and at the end of the rollercoaster, I felt satisfied, I won't say anymore as I don't want to give anything away. But then again the campaign was worked on by Infinity Ward.

Now, the negative. Infinity Ward, people buy your games for the multiplayer, why then did you entrust it's development to a third party? Sledgehammer have dropped the ball completely on this one. Why does it feel as though I am moving in a tar pit in this game, it's SO sluggish, traversing the maps feels like a chore, I've tried everything to combat it, extreme conditioning, changing the sensitivity, nothings worked. Secondly, to make the Assault Rifles/SMG's range more "muted" for realism purposes yet allow quickscoping is a nonsensical double standard. There is a certain trade off to be had with sniper rifles, power and accuracy at range but not good within CQC, people should not be able to use snipers as shotguns, by not removing quickscoping you have allowed this imbalance to continue within your games. The weapons handle horribly and feel much like Black Ops, (which I hated), wherein kills are less about precision and more about rattling of shot after shot towards the target hoping to see a hit marker, gaining proficiencies does little good. Some of the maps work ok (Resistance, Village), others are horribly designed and impossible to traverse about 10 feet without getting shot from one of the myriad unseen spots or by the guy that has just inexplicably spawned right behind your back (Interchange, Bootleg). I read an interview with one of the developers who said it was "too easy" to get killed in MW2, really? So it's easy to avoid being shot in the back by a terrible spawning algorithm in MW3? Ha. I turned off my Xbox last night after "running" half way across the map Seatown, only to see a sniper, and start shooting with my G36C, red dot and "stability" proficiency on, I was 15 feet away from him, the gun hopelessly rattles bullets anywhere but at him, I got two hit markers with this "muted" weapon and bang he'd quickscoped me, two seconds later I spawn right in front of him as he's running towards our team and he quickscopes me again before I'd even seen him. Any weapon in this game that is not a sniper is terrible at range but then again the sniper can be use in in mid and close range combat as well. Sums it up really. I'll be trading it in for Skyrim.

I'm not saying I wouldn't buy another Modern Warfare title but I'll be renting it the next time before dropping 40 quid on it, if I like after renting, I'll buy it.

I didn't expect innovation or a million new features but I also didn't expect a lot of the things that made this a successful franchise to be removed or disappear, so in summary, thanks for the awful spawning system, sluggish movement, imbalanced weapons and poor maps. A note to Mr Glen Schofield, the scores aren't "suspiciously low", a lot of people really did play the game and hate it, take responsibility and look at how you can fix it instead of blaming it on Battlefield fanboys, most of them are busy playing BF3 a game which seems to have lived up to it's fans/users expectations, something you failed to achieve.

The menus are unnecessarily cumbersome. I find setting up my custom classes gets pretty annoying. I'm not sure why these changes were made. Still, I could get used to this if I were to keep the game long enough, which I probably will not.

The multi-player issue can be described in three words: Poorly Designed Maps.

Every map is basically the same. Regardless of size, the surroundings force tight game play. Each battle takes on the same result. Whether its blown up cars, walls, hills, ruins, etc., players are forced through choke points. Very few maps offer any areas of visibility. This leads to games that feel like walking through an amusement park haunted house, around each bend another player jumps out on you. This gets old pretty quickly. Camping in corners and shadows, or in windows or darkened doors, is the norm. Overall, this just has the feel of being a cheap COD knock off rather than a true COD game. I played MW2 until Black Ops came out, and played that until this was released. Looks like I will have to find another game to fill my usual gaming time as this just isn't cutting it.

And from there we as the player take control of different people and move from one goal to the next, and in the end we kill the bad guys and all is well in the world. Pretty standard stuff here. I usually start off on easy, but not this time, I had to bump it up to normal for a little more of a challenge. It is a sad state when a gamer as me who plays on easy has to turn it up a notch. At this point I am considering attempting it on veteran to see how hard it is supposed to be. Overall the campaign is a simple go here, protect that, capture him fanfare. Not that people purchase this series for single player experiences.
The multi-player on the other hand is what everyone wants to play. When I picked up MW2 it was fairly straight forward and easy to pick up and play, And so is this, because it looks, plays, and feels just like it's predecessor. Yes, they did change some perks, and kill streaks. But overall it is the same as before. Along with the same game play you also get the stereo typical players that are with it. Nothing makes me want to play a game more than a prepubescent kid telling me to leave and stop playing the game because I did not do as well as they did. Given all online games have these types of player, but it seems that most flock to CoD. Overall it is a good game, just more of the same. Most players will enjoy the game both online and off, but I cannot say that I am impressed with it as much as I was with the 4th installment of the series. It is as if the developer decided to put forth as little effort as possible and do what they did before. This holiday season I will be trading this title in and seeking a different title to invest my time on.

Stop your Twitter groveling Glen Schofield, your game deserves a "0", MW3 and Activision DESERVE it for disappointing MILLIONS of fans who were devoted countless single-player and multi-player hours into the Modern Warfare series to give us this rushed, tacked-on, copy-cat, sloppy, un-inventive, game that you dare to slap the "Call of Duty" mark on it. A little history about me: I've dropped easily hundreds of hours into MW2 multiplayer until all the hackers, quick-scopers, and all sorts of crap started showing up without a single patch to balance or fix the game and I dropped MW2, ticked beyond belief, and went to Battlefield instead. Black Ops brought me back with innovative and different feel and Zombies zombies zombies.
Now here comes MW3, like your ex-wife/girlfriend who comes back into your life after so many years after your bitter break-up, now all dressed up in sexy clothing and make-up trying to seduce you back...and when you fall for the trap...BAM, you realize you got played...underneath it all you realize that you're dealing with the same BS that made you hate the wench in the first place!! That was the feeling I had when playing my first hours of both Single Player and Multi-Player.

Some Lowpoints, to name a few: -- Lame single player campaign - "Lets chase Makarov around the globe, again and again storyline", Sequences are all rehash of MW2 sequences: bang bang, kill kill, sneak sneak, cheap deaths, many innocents die but we don't care, rehash AC-130 sequence, run run, someone "important" dies, boo hoo (not really), game over...all in a matter of a handful of hours where you simply...just...don't...care. -- Multi-Player - Spec Ops, rehash of single player, nuff said. Multi-player - Within THIRTY MINUTES of my experience, I got "quick scoped" over and OVER again!!??? ARRGHH!!! W...T...H!?? The cheap tricks are back!!?? They obviously DID NOT listen to the fans at all = Activision does not care about you. Strike packages are lame, especially the Support package which still REQUIRES kills to "support" your team. Kill streaks happen every 2 seconds with no breathing room. -- Multi-player maps are about 50% SMALLER in size it seems, where spawn-and-die is the recurring theme. There are no dynamics or good feel about ANY map that I have tried with any game type, and Kill Confirmed is a lame tack-on and forgettable. Weapon balancing is terrible no matter how you think about it.

In summary, my buddies and I who ran and pwned both MW2 and Black Ops multi-player literally STOPPED playing after just two hours of BS on MW3 multi-player. We all also play BF3 and HANDS-DOWN find that it is a better, more in-depth experience that MW3 would ever HOPE to achieve. So Glen Schofield, you've made half a billion dollars off of your loyal and devoted fans, and yet here on Metacritic your game stands at a lowly 3 score. Take your money and run, Infinity Ward got it right when it left Activision in the first place.

When i give this game a 2/10, i am not exagerating. The reason critic's have given this game high scores is because they do not know how to review this series. This game brings nothing new to the series and nothing new to gaming in general. The campaign is weak and often attempts emotional cheapshots that, if reasonably analysed, are there to spark controversy from the media and not any emotion. The reason i have given this game a 2/10 and not a 1/10 is because of the new survival mode in spec ops. It is slightly fun but nothing we have not seen from other games such as the Gears of War horde mode. Now to the multiplayer. Graphics remain unchanged from Modern Warfare 2, the previous call of duty. The core mechanics have not changed. These elements combined give the player a rehashed and unchanged experience from Modern Warfare 2. Buildings, guns, kill/pointstreaks have even been used from previous call of duty's. Essentially, this game shows a several companies, led by Activision, milking a series until it can no longer be milked. When i say milked i mean making the same game over and over until the gaming community and critic's become aware of this money grab that is call of duty. This has not happened, unfortunatly. We are being sold a disgrace to gaming in general which mocks our intelligence. Expand

The graphics and the gun sounds are recycled from previous games (even cod4). The hit detection is far worse than MW2. If you still enjoy Call of Duty, you're better off saving 60 bucks and continuing to play MW2 or cod4. The developers still fail to innovate. A new streak system, very few new perks, and a survival mode that resembles Zombies is just no reason to buy this game. By the way, Activision already announced a new Call of Duty game for 2012. IW has created a circus for children with the ridiculous ways to which u can 'snipe' in this game. Sniping used to be a skill from range, not a few quick clicks of a trigger from 2 meters away. The graphics can be excused as nobody expected anything more than black ops. The Audio is so poorly mixed, my ASTRO A40's sound like a cheap pair of Turtle Beach XLC's. Black Ops had varied recoil pending on different gun types, MW3 has next to no difference in gun types. Weapon perks are the stupidest things implemented in a game since the Wii remote. An MP5 only shoots so far, why add something to allow it to shoot further? Kill streaks used to be just that - KILL streaks. Even the worst player can get a spy plane on COD4/BOp's, it's only 3 kills. Now U can only capture a few objectives and you've gained reward. This makes sense, but if you die, this should reset. COD 4 redifined innovation and took the world by storm. MW2 was a mistake that the world could've done without and MW3 is the icing on the cake for IW and the reverse of progress. Treyarch got it right, in evey way. IW had sat back in their gold office chairs and smoked some mind altering drug and produced nothing but rubbish. In summary, too many kill streaks, dumb weapon perks, sniping is a joke, matchmaking is stupid and it's designed for 12 year olds. We would've been happy with COD 4 expansion instead of this over-hyped tragidy. Expand

If you have any previous Modern Warfare game this will not be worth your money and I recommend battle field 3 on the PC for an innovative modern shooter.

Fans of Call of Duty should save some money for themselves, newcommers to the COD franchise can pick up Modern Warfare 2 / Black Ops for half the price. I didn't expect much out of the multiplayer feature of the game. Once a franchise like this hits it's stride, you can only reinvent the wheel so many times. However, the product I ended up taking home for $60, after playing through, felt like more of an insult than a gaming experience. First off, the campaign mode was ridiculously short, given the expectations laid down by Infinity Ward's marketing team. I was looking forward to a crazy World War III scenario. At the very least, I was hoping that the team would make it to Moscow. Instead, what I got was a bunch of short-ish and uninteresting Delta Force situations that took me less than 4 hours to shoot my way through. To frame it in a different context...I felt like MW 2 was one of the best first person shooters ever made, in addition to having a great anti-war message. MW 3 just felt like a game hellbent on cruise control. Instead of having a bunch of Special Ops missions, I would much rather have seen more effort and time put into the Campaign mode. I don't care about a bunch of little missions (whose difficulty is through the roof, I suppose, to give you the illusion of more game hours,) and while I thought the Survival mode was a nice touch, I would've gladly given it up for the same reasons. The developing team really screwed the pooch here, attempting to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. Of course, Infinity Ward probably knew at this point that all they needed to do is make Multiplayer good and people wouldn't complain. So that's what they put more focus on than anything...but by "focus", I only mean "a few new features and a handful of features ripped from Call of Duty: Black Ops." But they did launch the Elite app, which allows them to take your money a little early for content that nobody cares about. My guess is that they knew that they didn't have to work as hard to make a quality game, since this one wraps up the story of the last two, and people would buy it anyway in anticipation. As far as game mechanics for Multiplayer go...more of the same. I think I actually preferred the currency system of Black Ops, so I don't have to grind to level up weapons. I'd rather earn XP and buy them. As a casual gamer, I have no desire to spend 8 to 16 hours on Xbox Live so that I can have a hybrid sight for my AK 47. (I will say that the hybrid sight was a cool new addition, but one among very few.) The divide and conquer approach to the Perks / Weapon Leveling system was unnecessary and stupid. I would've been happy with it being fine the way it was. In closing, I'm sure a lot of time, money, and hard work went into developing this game. I'm sure that hours were tirelessly spent by Infinity Ward's development team trying to figure out how to squeeze fresh blood from an already dried up and overused turnip. Either that, or they wasted a bunch of time on two useless game modes while neglecting the Campaign mode, switching a few features around on Multiplayer, and pouring millions of dollars into promoting a game with a lackluster plot, redundant features to the last two games, and no passion whatsoever. We all know that the majority of COD fans buy the games nowadays for the multiplayer experience that COD 4 pioneered. I consider myself and my friends to be a pretty well skilled group of players who have spent alot of time and money on these games. All of them until Modern Warfare 3 would have recieved a moderate to high score from me. But I do not feel as if Sledgehammer, or IW really listened to the gaming community before they made this game. If they had, there would have been a clear and tangible difference to the newest addition. Sure we all know that the game is going to be VERY similar to the others. We pay for the game knowing this. But we ALL expect each and every new addition to be an improvement on the last games. With so many COD's before Modern Warfare 3, there simply is no excuse for the plethora of issues this game has. Sure, at times, it is a fun game. But when entire groups of players 6 or more in numbers are getting fed up and going back to Modern Warfare 2 or even Black Ops, ( God Forbid), Sledgehammer, IW, this is a problem. I have both Modern Warfare 3, and Battlefield 3 and I can honestly say I have had more fun, and less frustration playing battlefield 3, even without people I know, than I have Modern Warfare 3. The way I see these games, they are an investment. And after 300$ for all three Modern Warfare games and Black Ops, (not to mention DLC for all of them), I am beginning to think I have invested in the wrong game to provide me my fun. To the makers of EVERY Call of Duty game: Thank You, it has been a wild ride. But we are growing apart. I just cant stay in a relationship where I give and give and give, and you take and take and take without any concern for my opinion on the matter. Save yourself the heartache of a lost 60$.

Why only give this game a 4/10 you ask? Because the multiplayer is stale, same feeling as MW2. Looks almost the same as too. Why not give it a 0/10? Cod fanboys, cry your hearts out, but even you guys know this game was a flop. Ever remember what happened to Medal of Honor? That's about to happen to CoD if EA can finally square a couple of things away. Expand

My roommate bought this game the day it came out. I was disgusted by how much Activision does not not care about the consumer, but instead is only focused on the money they can make with mw. The number one comment I heard from people coming into our room was, "Is there a new map pack for mw2, I havent played this map!" (copy+paste)+change enough to satisfy children = mw3

A fire selector switch, large maps with a rush type mode, modes for more tactical game-play. These changes would have been easy to include and really don't push the envelope very far into the land of "fixing what ain't broke". This latest effort from Activision and Infinity Ward shows laziness and greed. They made a far inferior game (super-tight maps with ridiculously frenetic pacing / outdated HALO type game play / boring leveling system) and play it off like the best thing ever. We are suckers for buying this stuff. With the resources they had, they really could have moved the bar up...instead they just ignored the bar altogether...or maybe, the developers are still hanging out at the bar, I don't know. What about all the mods and cheats they allow...how is your game this hackable guys? Really poor effort, really poor. This gets my vote for worst game of the year..the most frustrating back shooting experience, but it sure is pretty to look at. Expand

This game might as well have been released as an expansion pack! It looks, feels, and plays just like MW2. Only Difference is new maps, guns, and perks. The multiplayer was relativity the same as modern warfare 2 with a new point system (that wasn't original), maps and more overpowered kill streaks a concept that looks good on paper but turns the game into a fun fast paced shooter into, players finding the cheapest way to get that amazing ac-130 or juggernaut suit. The only reaming quality of the game was its co-operative mode; spec ops, but that was a downgrade from the franchises most popular portion; Nazi zombies, which even though wasn't made by infinity ward, could have and should have been put into the game. Overall I wouldn't suggest getting it at all, you could play MW 2 multiplayer, black ops Nazi zombies, and look up the story on you tube and have a better experience without having to buy a new game. I've been a gamer for quite some time, and I have enjoyed past Call Of Duty games, but I must say that I would sincerely recommend not buying this game. Though I enjoyed the campaign and had some fun with the spec ops, I hated the multiplayer with a fiery passion. No, I'm not **** at the game, and no, I'm not just raging cause it seems like one gun kills me and I can't use it, but it seemsI've been a gamer for quite some time, and I have enjoyed past Call Of Duty games, but I must say that I would sincerely recommend not buying this game. Now, I wouldn't define myself as a fanboy, simply because I enjoy any and all good games that come out, but take MW3, which was made one year after Black Ops, and compare it to Battlefield 3, which they spent 5 years making. There's no comparison at all. MW3 is not an improvement on any past CoD games. Am I saying Black Ops and MW2 were perfect? Hell no, but compared to MW3 they're amazing. Unless you only buy games for the single player take your money elsewhere and buy a better game, my recommendations, Skyrim or even Battlefield. Expand

I would love to know how much Activision is paying the "critics" who review their games and score it 100/100 and claim that it is the best game ever, the Call of Duty franchise has absolutely gone into the trash after the release of Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty WaW, the only two good games in the series, and now with every year the game will continue to get worse as they will releaseI would love to know how much Activision is paying the "critics" who review their games and score it 100/100 and claim that it is the best game ever, the Call of Duty franchise has absolutely gone into the trash after the release of Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty WaW, the only two good games in the series, and now with every year the game will continue to get worse as they will release the same re-skinned game that in 2007 was amazing, but guess what it's 2012, this game no longer measures up. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
