Dance Central 2

This is without a doubt the best game you can get for Kinect.

There are plenty of songs to dance to in the exhibition mode, and newbies will appreciate the exhaustive training mode.

Dance Central 2 stands as a significant upgrade over the previous Dance Central game for the Xbox 360 Kinect. The voice command technology, bigger set list, ability to import songs from the previous Dance Central, and enhanced visuals all make for a game that should be under many Christmas trees this holiday season.

A great step forward for Dance Central. Importing your old songs to make a giant playlist is tough to beat, and the game is much more of a workout then you might expect!

Dance Central 2 is by far the best Kinect game out to date. It is also one of the only games that actually make you feel like the actions you are doing are being properly scored and accounted for in the game. Whatever Harmonix is doing behind the scenes to get so much out of the Kinect other developers should take note because it truly is incredible and deserving the price of admission.

The best game you can get for Microsoft's Kinect device. You won't find a game with better body tracking tech, and that brings Dance Central 2 far above its peers.

Harmonix has clearly listened to and addressed any criticisms levelled at the original, resulting in an improved sequel that rarely misses a beat.

The seamless integration of voice commands into a polished, thoughtful upgrade is Harmonix's slick finishing move. Dance Central 2 is a typical music game sequel – it works better, offers more, yet feels fundamentally the same – but it's a practised improvement to an already eye-catching routine.

In short, it's unquestionably the best dance game available on Kinect, and a successful, evolutionary step forward that will certainly please those who loved the original.

Dance Central 2 is a great evolution of the first episode of this cool franchise. Harmonix did a great job with this game, creating one of the most interesting Kinect experiences out there. If you love dancing, you can't miss this game.

While Just Dance is fundamentally a social game, Dance Central 2 is a proper dancing game.

The best game for Kinect just got better. Dance Central 2 improves on practically every feature in the original, and adds a much-needed two player mode, a must for everyone who likes to have fun.

I haven't had an opportunity to test my new moves at a club yet, but with Dance Central 2's drop-in, drop-out multiplayer, I don't need to leave my house to have a social dance experience. I still think that 90 percent of all dance moves look better when anyone other than me performs them, and that children dance with a wild abandon that few adults are confident enough to muster, but my time with Dance Central 2 has convinced me that even those of us that aren't dance enthusiasts can have fun busting a move if we're willing to give it a shot.

If you enjoyed the original, don't hestitate to pick up the new game and import your songs over. But don't buy a Kinect just for Dance Central 2. Don't run out and pay full price for the game if you're only going to enjoy it during a party. There's sure to be a sale sooner than later.

Dance Central is everything one could expect from a good sequel. As precise in it movement recognition, it now boasts a two player offer, an enhanced solo mode, and a very decent learning curve. It may be this last point that drives a choice between DC2 and Just Dance 3: the first is more demanding and deep, the second more aimed at immediate fun.

With more modes, a great track list, and engaging (local) multiplayer, plus the nice tweaks to the voice support and the addition of the Crew Challenge, Harmonix's latest effort remains in the top spot among all Kinect titles on store shelves today.

Improved in all accounts, Dance Central 2 offers a spectacular dancing performance. While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, fans of the genre should find almost everything they are looking for from a dance game.

A better dance game than Just Dance 3. The workout modes and campaign give you a reason to keep coming back, whether you're playing alone or with a group, and the mechanics behind the body tracking are second to none (even if the voice control commands are still a bit spotty).

While Dance Central 2 hasn't done anything vastly different to move the genre forward, it is still a solid entry, and has solidified itself as a solid franchise. As long as you don't mind looking a little goofy in front of friends, you really can't go wrong popping this in at a party to liven the mood a bit.

The king of dancing games has a successor and its name is Dance Central 2.

Dance Central 2 has obviously been made with passion and love, and isn't just a quick cash grab. Compared to its predecessor, it has better songs, more forgiving gameplay and the option of two-player dancing, which is easily the most important addition.

The differences between Dance Central and this sequel can be compared to the first two Guitar Hero games. That means a lot of good things has happened and good Kinect games doesn't grow on trees, so Dance Central 2 is highly recommended for everyone.

While Dance Central 2's selection of tracks still lacks the eclectic feel (and silliness) found in Ubisoft's Just Dance, it still offers dozens of fine danceables.

There's always something about dance video games. However, newly Dance Central 2 is as close to your 'weekend party in a club' as close is your living room. It is true that for ordinary gamers this is an experience like from an another world – but that was your first vodka with Red Bull as well, am I right?

Dance Central 2 will get you grooving with its impressive routines that strike a fine balance of accessibility, challenge, and fun.

With the inclusion of multiplayer, Dance Central 2 has become the definitive dance game on any console far surpassing its competitors. Thoughtful and intricate choreography that is still fun but accessible, a song list that is familiar and current with a depth of gameplay has made this title both challenging for previous Dance Central converts yet still welcoming for newcomers.

Nimbly straddling the line between technical and accessible, the series continues to be one of the best dancing games out there, if not one of the best games on Kinect period.

It's testimony to Harmonix that the Dance Central series has become an essential purchase for Kinect owners. Having two players in front of the screen is tremendous fun, and adds to the game's appeal massively.

It's a hell of a workout, and a lot of fun to play with friends. It doesn't really make any significant strides over the original game, but the first Dance Central didn't seem to need many improvements to begin with.

It isn't very often you get a sequel that improves in so many areas without changing too much, but it is clear that Dance Central is worthy of your precious holiday dollars.

Dance Central did many things right, Harmonix really just had to improve details. They did: add good coop, dance battle, a kind of campagin mode, you get Dance Central 2. A game that takes the good predecessor to the next level. Okay, the song selection will be too modern for some tastes – but once that becomes the biggest criticism, that's a damn good sign.

Dance Central 2 is better than Dance Central, though that margin will vary significantly depending on how dissatisfied you were with the original's lack of two-player support or a structured story mode to ease you into the experience. Personally, I was happy to just have more Dance Central, but what I got was better than that.

Even with a few hiccups, Dance Central 2 provides further proof that the Kinect can facilitate amazing gaming experiences when they're well designed around Kinect from the get-go.

This team of rhythm game veterans have proven once again that they are, as they always have been, masters of progressive iteration.

Dance Central 2 is actually a pretty good workout game with a nice little career mode. The soundtrack mostly features radio hits, but the songs from Dance Central can be unlocked for a small price.

A logical evolution from Dance Central and certainly one of the best Kinect games avaliable for it by far. It's serious enough to offer an entertaining challenge and easy enough to welcome everyone, making it a superior dancing game over much goofier offerings.

Far more interested in fixing the flaws of the original than most sequels, this is probably the best, or at least most accurate, use of Kinect so far.

A welcome improvement of the original game with a more distinctive and catchy visual style, local multiplayer, a great tracklist and better movements tracking. We're still missing online play, though.

More moves, more songs, more things to do. In one word: better. That's the way we like it!

Very similar to its predecessor, but it now comes with a proper two-player mode, an improved Break it Down mode, and lots of other small improvements. If you enjoyed the first game, you will certainly enjoy this one.

Dance Central 2 blew our minds because of its artful mix of movement and gameplay; it makes using your body to respond to what's onscreen an afterthought. You just think: "Man, what a great game."

A clear improvement on its already-excellent predecessor and is now absolutely the dance game that Kinect deserves. Those who can't stomach the more narrow selection of musical genres will be upset, but this is still the slickest, sexiest dance game around.

The sequel for the best Kinect game doesn't fail. The two player mode is the biggest improvement. Training leads to results, so this game is edu-tainment as it's best. Second Dance Central is – as it's predecessor – a Kinect application for both casual and hardcore gamers. [Dec 2011]

We do wish the menu was a little more accessible, though. Sometimes the game has a hard time reading certain gestures of your hand. Luckily, the added voice control makes it a little better, so you can shout out what you want to do instead of forcibly moving pointers around.

Overall, Dance Central 2 is a pretty amazing Kinect game. Harmonix has packed it full with features and it should keep you busy for quite a while. This is by far the best Kinect dance game and a pretty good leap from the original Dance Central.

Yet again the best game to make the most of Kinect, and an example of how to make a charming game for everyone.

The best dance game out there. In terms of visuals, features and competency of controls, there's nothing better. It slightly bothers me, though, that I had more fun with Just Dance 3.

Harmonix has made some great innovations and additions in Dance Central 2, but the lack of competitive gameplay over Xbox Live is an oversight that stops the dance-tastic title from breaking that much sought after 90+ barrier. Still as much a killer-app for Kinect as before, but still missing that one key ingredient.

Dance Central 2 is a great dance game that manages to fix all the problems that I initially had with the original game, and totally blew away my expectations at the same time. The multiplayer functionality is extremely well thought out, offering both competitive and co-operative modes for the keen dancer.
