Fans of DBZ, both the games and the show, can find enough here to keep them satisfied and coming back for more but fighting gamers may find the slower paced combat and the drama pieces a turn off.
Beyond its successes as a light, accessible fighting game, Burst Limit's greatest achievement as a DBZ fighting game is finally presenting the story and characters in all of their utterly ludicrous glory.

Reminiscent of the anime, Burst Limit is an intriguing game for fans and newcomers alike.
Twenty-plus playable characters (including fisticuff faves Krillin, Goku, and Piccolo), ground-based and sky-bound battles, a brimming list of offline challenges, and an addictive around-the-globe online Versus mode (complete with leaderboard tracking) fill out this beefy package.
Although it is a solid fighting game, if you don't appreciate the style of the cartoons then it could get old fast, for example you might have just nailed a complicated combo only to have it interrupted and ended by a drama card which is totally out of your control.
Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is definitely more a game for those familiar with the series than players looking for a deep, competitive fighting game. While it's visually engaging, those without an interest in the actual Dragon Ball Z franchise will find the fighting too simplistic to be rewarding.

Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit é um jogo bem legal, o estilo de camera é bom, o enredo é bom (ja que é o mesmo do anime), e tem bastantes personagens, o grafico é bom, ainda mais por ser um game de 2008, a dificuldade é mediana, nao chega a ser tão dificil, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit é legal, e vale a pena jogar, mais se voce espera um jogo a nivel da era de ouro do Dragon Ball Z nos games de Ps2, voce provavelmente ira se decepcionar. Nota 7.0

Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is THE best DBZ fighters of all time. After playing it and unlocking all the characters and arena's, I was hoping that there will be Budokai Tenkaichi 4. Sadly, Burst Limit isn't one of them and definitely doesn't overshadow BT3. However, for a DBZ fighter, its not so bad. This game plays like the 1st Budokai game on PS2, which is not a bad idea. It's got decent controls, great graphics, and the super moves were pretty damn cool. But I still hope that there will be a Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

The gameplay in Burst limit is very good tho it has it's problems. In battles in has these middle battle cutscenes which can work good in the story mode but not in online battles. A huge problem i have with this game is that it doesn't have a majin boo saga i mean WTF?.

This game is... okay. It has it's strong points such as it's gorgeous visuals (and it's still the best looking DBZ game ever released to me!) and great soundtrack, but to me, the gameplay feels much more slow and clunky compared to Dimps last DBZ game Budokai 3. And this game does not have aas much to offer, for example, Budokai 3 went through every DBZ saga and also covered a bit of DBGT (Which to me is not a good thing!) and had a pretty big character roster. This game only goes up to the end of the Cell saga and has a much smaller character roster.
Overall it's okay, it can be fun at times but it does not compare to Budokai 3.
