Capcom's classic 32 bit beat'em up Jojo's Bizarre Adventure grants a second chance with this HD Ver and the solid online modes provided. Strong personality in the combat mechanics, but aged and turned slightly simplistic. Great character design with good HD fine tuning. The price, sadly, is a total turnoff.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Edition is brilliant – the only problem is the price. There's no new content except for the online features and the visuals haven't been really upgraded, which lead us to think that the price should have been closer to the PSOne Classics on PSN. Recommended for those who love retro fighting games, as long as they ignore the price.

It's a good HD remake of a classic Capcom fighting game, but after all these years the genre has evolved and Jojo's controls feel a bit clunky and lack enough special moves.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventures HD is a solid porting of an excellent beat'em-up which lacks noteworthy game modes in spite of a very high price. Fans of the manga or 2D beat'em-ups should definitely give it a look.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD is peculiar, but tremendous amounts of fun. A stand-out fighter that holds up well, but ported without much love from its developers.

What sours the deal, however, is the lack of care and value put into the package. JoJo's is premium-priced at $20, and there's little here to justify that cost. The "HD" upscale looks blotched and muddy, and there aren't any tutorials, special challenges, or even combo exercises to ease new players into this very demanding fighting game.

At half the asking price, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure would be a worthwhile impulse purchase, as the game itself still offers some intriguing gameplay. But a bare-bones release with a premium cost is difficult to justify for all but the most ardent of fans. You're better off buying a used Dreamcast or PSone copy and firing up the old console for a trip down memory lane.

Much of the characters are quite the same character, recycling much sprites and moves, but they have style.
¿The game is expensive? I think is not THAT expensive.

However the "Hd Remake" just adds lines over the original sprites and a fancy border, even removing the original charming menu system. The fighting mechanics still hold up as something interesting with different characters having different types of stands although some characters are just reused sprites and the HD Version takes out the ability to actually unlock any characters.

If you're a big fan of the original game then this might be the game for you (and takes away that extra effort of hunting through your old games) but if you're a newcomer to the series you're better off hunting for the original on PSX than spending £13.50.
