Better than the sum of its parts, the game offers an arcade experience with a little more room to muck around and a little more scope for customising things than is usually offered.

A slick and superb-looking racer that offers immense entertainment and exploits the next-gen consoles. [Nov 2007, p.78]
  3. I find Project Gotham tracks have done better in giving player bite-sized, drift happy courses, but overall this game is the burst of speed that this genre needs.
  4. Overall the different modes and multiple options make Juiced 2 my favorite racing game on the Xbox 360 of this style. It doesn’t compare to PGR4 or Forza but it is not meant to.
  5. There’s a lot of stuff built up around the actual racing—pictures of pretty girls, a frenetic soundtrack, and a whole Driver DNA mechanic that doesn’t really seem to do anything at all—but once you cut through all that to the content itself it actually ain’t half bad.
  6. It won’t blow your socks off in any one area (expect maybe for some of its online functionality), but it will keep you satisfied while progressing through the career mode. Pick this one up if you need a fresh tuner fix, stat, or if the idea of winning pink slips or betting on races via Live gets your glycol boiling.

There are some problems with the driving controls and the genetics-based leveling-up system, but the online game is strong. All told, not a bad game to get behind the wheel of.

It's just simply not as good as the large number of awesome driving games that are already on Xbox 360, and, in current form, it's always going to come in behind the pack. [Nov 2007, p.100]

In the space of just one sequel, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights has elevated itself to one of the more interesting and fun racers currently on the market. [Nov 2007, p.130]

Juiced 2 is a nice change from the hardcore, but ascetic, sims you might be used to. This one manages to find a nice mix between the two extremes while remaining fun. [Nov 2007, p.54]

Burnout is a better arcade racer, but Juiced 2 has other qualities including Driver DNA. It is a gimmick, but it works and it adds that element necessary to make spending money on a game of the like you may already own reasonable.

Full of different modes, but it's ultimately just too easy and riddled with nuances. [Dec 2007, p.82]
  13. Juiced 2 is not the cream of the crop in terms of street racing games. It however is a game that fans of the genre should not overlook.
  14. In the end with Juiced 2 we have a game that is much more enjoyable than Juiced was as it controls better (but still needs some work in that area) and is a fairly solid arcade street racing game.

The track design is generally pretty good and the layout of the Career mode is nice. However, some aspects of the car customization are poor and the controls could have used more tuning.

Ambitious? You bet. Worthy of your money? Maybe, if you can accept that racing is just one part -- and an inconsistent one at that -- of a very big picture.

While Juiced 2 isn't the smoothest-driving Xbox 360 racer on the market, it's definitely one of the more filling. [Nov 2007, p.97]
  18. Juiced 2 seems more like an expansion pack to the original than a true sequel. However, it's by far the best of the two.
  19. 60
Beyond its online career mode, there's not much that leads Juiced 2 to stand out from the pack. It's an unassuming street racer with few flaws, but at the same time, few outstanding qualities. Even the visuals don't inspire much, leaving Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights cold by morning.
  20. Interesting online modes salvage this derivative street racer from total mediocrity.
  21. Another polished, oily, neon-drenched street-racing game with bags of 'tude, some neat ideas, and a decent riff on the classic Ridge Racer drift handling. But with so many genuinely inspired driving games out there at the moment, the fact that Juiced 2 ended up merely solid is not enough when it needed a spark of inspiration to draw attention away from everything else out there.
  22. 60
The gameplay has improved but there are still a few problems which means only those who will get extreme joy from customising their vehicles should take a second look at Juiced 2.

Juiced 2’s driving dynamic couldn’t be more easygoing without offering an autopilot option... The exception are the drift events, where the game may actually lead its genre. [Dec 2007, p.94]

Lacking the intensity and lavish budget of a "Need for Speed." [Issue#25, p.101]

Juiced 2 is a mediocre racer.

The gameplay is quite bad, with very slidy cars and rubberband AI killing much of the game's enjoyment. The controls are good however. The game also forces you to put your car up for pink slips in some races, which puts un-needed pressure on you.

Car customisation is amazing, with a big decal selector, tons of options for hoods, bumpers, spoilers, and rims, and tons of tuning and upgrade options.

The graphics are decent, and the framerate is solid.

Sound design is quite good, but the soundtrack is awful.

Overall,Juiced 2 is a game that had potential, but falls to mediocrity due to poor design decisions
