Apr 15, 2011Stacking is still one of the weirdest and most wonderful adventures on the downloadable market, and Hobo King offers delights that are stranger and funnier still. It's a must-buy, unless you're too squeamish to deal with stinky cheese and "already been chewed" fish.
-
Apr 14, 2011If you've already played Stacking and you're on the fence about getting The Lost Hobo King, all you really need to know is that it's about the size of a Stacking level and the quality is as good as anything in the main game. Whether or not you want to shell out $5 for that is ultimately a personal decision.
-
Apr 5, 2011Fans of Double Fine's most unique game yet will enjoy their time in Camelfoot, but those who never saw Stacking to completion probably won't be satisfied with this new tale.
-
Apr 11, 2011The Lost Hobo King is a welcome return to the world of Stacking, but it's over before you know it.
-
Apr 5, 2011It feels like something that was left on the cutting room floor for good reason instead of a complement to the original game.
-
Apr 5, 2011Ultimately, buying or passing on The Lost Hobo King comes down to a simple value proposition. At 400 MSP ($5) on Xbox Live and PSN, it's not terribly expensive and does deliver more of the adorable Stacking gameplay that defined the original game. However, with such a short play time, it feels more like a well-polished demo level than a fully developed DLC addition.
-
Apr 5, 2011Quality gameplay while it lasts, but this new chapter is over just as the charm begins to set in to the experience. Fans of the original game will surely enjoy The Lost Hobo King but find their selves back in a familiar place of "wanting more" very quickly. The extra chapter is a still a welcome addition and just as enjoyable as the full adventure but it just needs to be longer and that is what really holds it back.
