Beenox didn’t reach the peak with its reboots yet – especially if you compare it to Peter Parker’s free-roaming adventures from two console generations ago. But they are on their way.

Compared to the big budget, 3D, slow-motion CGI movies, there is no comparison. The graphics, gameplay, and voice acting is serviceable, but hardly ‘amazing’ as the title would suggest.

From developer Beenox we expected something more than a bland, open-world Spidey game that loses almost all its interest after 5 hours.

Spider-Man returns with the new film. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an average game, and it's not particularly challenging. New York and notorious villains have many problems in this classic sandbox.

The Amazing Spider-man draws too much direct inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series, implements it too unevenly to warrant much praise.

You don’t need a Spider-sense to realise that a game with various audio glitches, gameplay crashes and overall sloppy design might not be worth your time or effort, as this Spider-Man isn’t the hero that fans need or deserve.

Beenox deliver a buggy, messy game that misses the essence of Spider-Man by a wide margin. Here’s hoping Activision entrusts the popular licence to another developer for the inevitable sequel.

I don't know how the people gave a 7.2 for this game. I think this game is so real and I think that the creator of this is a total genius. The only problem is that the bosses are way too easy because none of them actually hurt me and I finished the game in 1 day and in 1 trial. But still one of the best games I have ever known. I usually am not used to games but now I am totally addicted. Expand

The soundtrack is good and pleasant, with the passage of time the missions are becoming increasingly exciting but what makes the game not being perfect are the missions that contains not only so much content there is to do is go there and beat the bad guys, and also the open world does not produce a lot of freedom in the scene to be pretty much the same, if only there was a more varied and easter eggs so, and such .. the gameplay is very fluid (mainly combat), and I I think the game is worth the money (for me at least one marvel fan) is so that's my review. = D

If you're a fan of the original game, you'll probably be somewhat disappointed. This sequel has a better web-swinging mechanic than its predecessor. However, it downgrades everything else. The graphics aren't as impressive either. And the gameplay has been simplified. Still, the story's missions are decent fun. Sub-missions, however, get repetitive. Still, it's fun to unlock costumes and classic comic-book issues. I would rate "Amazing 2" with a 6.3 out of 10. Expand

The game is short and repetitive andIf you like Spider-man it is probably worth a rental, but overall it is a pretty mediocre experience. The game is short and repetitive and most fights often feel like a glorified button masher. Web slinging doesn't feel near as fun as I had hoped. Something about it just feels slow and stiff, not much improvement from a game like Ultimate Spider-Man that is nearly 10 years old now.

At fist glance the city looks very impressive, it is a huge area with a very accurate layout represented of the real life Manhattan along with all of the expected landmarks. But as you get down to street level and are swinging through the streets every block of the city pretty much feels the same as the last. Doesn't make exploring very fun.

The graphics in general aren't anything overly impressive, especially the cut scenes that involve webbing any of the bad guys. It looks like the web is just floating around whatever its on instead of actually sticking to it.

The story is pretty boring and cheesy with one "twist" that any Spider-Man fan will expect coming from a mile away. The attempts to tie in scenes from the new movie into some of the levels are also ridiculously corny and poorly done. Harry Osborn's voice actor is also incapable of anger, during what should be one of the most heated exchanges in the game he sounds like nothing more than a man that is just ever so slightly agitated.

Overall the game itself is probably a 5/10 but I enjoy the character of Spider-Man enough that it bumps it up to a 6 for me. It extremely short with only 14 missions to play through and can be beat in a weekend pretty easily. There are collectibles throughout the city but nothing about them makes me really want to go out and find t hem all. Rent it, don't buy it unless you can get an amazing deal on it.

The other side missions are mostly uninspired and take less than 30 seconds to complete and have about 5 different variants. Character customization / upgrades are all limited to skills doing more damage nothing more.
A very poor attempt at Prototype/Infamous fails at everything it does. The PS3 version also buggy trophies not unlocking/freezes
