Action Henk is simple, but knows its strengths and plays to them throughout, and the result is a fast-paced, highly enjoyable experience.

Its total package exhibits shades of similar titles, like the precision of Trials HD, the colorful and fun imagery of Joe Danger, and the speed of Sonic The Hedgehog. The fact that it does all of these things so well, in one go, is what makes the game a must-play for genre fans.

Action Henk is the perfect combination of easy to learn, but difficult to master gameplay with a massive helping of nostalgia in between. You can pick it up and play for 10 minutes, sure. But you’ll still want to know what’s happened with the last three hours.

Action Henk may lack the visual appeal of the games it aspires to be, but underneath is a surprisingly addictive experience that certainly extends the life of the simple idea it has been built upon. Featuring some decent platforming physics and an inviting world to explore, your frustration will come and go in frequent measures as you mutter to yourself “Just one more go” time and time again.

Whilst Action Henk certainly won’t float everyone’s boat with its iffy visuals and reliance on score chasing to provide any long-lasting attraction, it is still an interesting and addictive combination of racing and platforming.

Action Henk is a fun, quick game and easy to control, but difficult to master precisely. It reminds us of Trials, with a good but frustrating trial and error system. However, after a while you'll get tired of Henk for a day or two.

Action Henk borrows great ideas from classic time trial games and delivers a decent, challenging campaign. Multiplayer isn't very fun, though, and it's all been done better elsewhere.
