If you've wondered what the video game equivalent of curling up with a cup of tea and a good book would be…well, here it is.

The ABC Murders is a great piece of work. Made by fans of the source material for fans of the source material, Poirot is fully at home in the point and click adventure game genre. While I can't guarantee how playable it will be for people unfamiliar with the character or story, I suspect that newcomers will find it just as captivating as I did the first time.

A solid investigative adventure with one of the most famous and charismatic literary characters.

A simple point-and-click game that won't tax many of those little grey cells. The game constantly guides the player through the events of Agatha Christie's novel and the no-fail approach means that Adventure game novices can reach the end of the story, although the lack of challenge may discourage more ardent Adventure players from trying the title.

While there are more complex and intriguing crime games out there and it isn't the longest game, The ABC Murders still offers good entertainment for the interested and serves as a decent port into the murder mystery puzzle genre.

The game is really based around the story and that's about the only good thing about it. It looks all right, but doesn't challenge you that much. Also the voices and the animations aren't that great. For Christie fans, yes. For the rest, no.

When a game functions better as a tache-cleaning sim, you know you're in trouble. [Apr 2016, p.91]
