Agents of Mayhem is Volition as its finest, we can expect a mix of humor and action in this frenetic heroes-based game, which turns out to be of the best games from this company.

Despite these flaws, Agents of Mayhem truly does offer a unique and fresh spin on the Saints Row world. By distancing itself from the main franchise’s core characters and conflicts, the game is able to embrace its own aesthetic and create a new world that is just as weird and addicting as the original.

Like how the Saints Row franchise started off slowly – eventually turning into a juggernaut filled with fun – the Agents of Mayhem are starting their career off in the same manner. Slowly, solidly and repetitively.

A bit of a departure from Saints Row (though not really a massive one), Agents of Mayhem is an entertaining spin-off shooter laced with RPG elements that enhance an otherwise uncomplicated game. There's fun to be had here, providing you can get past the repetitive action.

There's so much to like if you're a fan of action cartoons but Agents of Mayhem is let down by repeated use of locations and annoying bugs.

The first few hours of Agents of Mayhem are genuinely exciting and entertaining. And funny too. It’s the open-world of high-tech Seoul and the repetitive missions that fail to live up to the colourful Agents and the Saturday morning cartoon vibe. Which is unfortunate. The juvenile sense of humour won’t appeal to everyone, but the same could be said for just about every Volition-developed title of the past decade. And in that sense, the studio’s latest effort is worth considering if you’re a Saints Row fan. For everyone else, imagine a ludicrous ‘80s cartoon built around the profane and juvenile marines featured in James Cameron’s classic film Aliens. Where they’re globe-trotting government agents, and prone to enter fits of gravity defying carnage.

A barebones and lifeless open world experience that suffers from a lack of innovation, repetitive gameplay, and poor mission design. Its characters are interesting on their surface level and its laughs are cheap, if they make you laugh at all, but Agents of Mayhem is certainly Volition’s most disappointing entry in the Saint’s Row-Red Faction universe.

Also this game features alot more animated cut scenes unlike the saints row games it's all CGI and scripted events I like this game I like saints row series aswell just not the crappy reboot anyway the choice of characters is cool some of these are your old friends from saints row series upto gat outer hell but some of them are using codenames instead of the saints name oh and gats a cyborg in this overall I think critics ruined this game when they didn't understand the connection between saints Row and how this connection came to be anyway I like this game I give it a 10 Expand

Fantastic Over the top Open World Game. Basically G.I. Joe meets Marvel movie within a Cop game.
Combines the insanity of Saints Row with the Future Cop GTA successor: Crackdown 1, 2. Neo-Futuristic vibe with a feel for previous eras like the 80s, 90s. Characters have unique abilities and styles to go along with gameplay. Personality and functionality are similar to the characters in Saints Row 3,4 and Gat out of Hell. Differences and variety of play keep the game fresh and traversing the city is a blast.

Definately a must buy for this year, along with originator of the open traversal genre: Crackdown 3.

So much better than Crackdown 3. Agent of Mayhem is fun, fast and has a variety of heroes with different types of gameplay.

    Agents of Mayhem
    A Sleeper hit
A gents of mayhem is a spin off game from the saints row series
where a group of heroes are assembled with their own hatred for the legion to take them down
The game takes place in south korea and the story is told with animated cutscenes and tons of humor and charm…
This is a bit of a 3rd person version of a hero shooter.. though completely single player
you start out with 3 characters, and once youre set free in the open world youre able to go and recruit the other 9…
The game handles the introductions and unlocking these characters perfectly…
and rightfully so as recruiting them makes up a hefty chunk of this 22 hour long campaign
To unlock a character you have to complete a mission with that character..
each characters mission introduces them, gives them a back story and their reason for wanting to take down legion…
and none of them feel throw away, every single character in this game feels fleshed out, both in their play style and their personality
These missions introduce the characters weapon, their special attacks, and their mayhem attacks..
They force the player not only to dip their toes in the water with each character, it forces them to prove they can succeed with that character as well
And each is balanced in a way that you may love 2 things about them but hate one… or really love one thing but hate the other 2..
This makes picking your favorite 3 so hard…
And keeping in mind you need a variety of characters in your squad for different objectives missions may throw at you..
Once you have your 3 favorite characters , its time to squad up and take the city for your own
A squad consists of any 3 characters
You can take these characters and clean up the town if youd like, taking over outposts so that you can unlock a regions side activites or claim currency terminals to increase you dollar per minute you earn back at your base
these side activities aren’t really too interesting or fun…
I don’t imagine many people will spend their time running around this tiny city doing them..
and other than unlocking schematics for new cars theres not much incentive to do them anyway..
speaking of cars this is how you will traverse unless you choose to jump and dash into the air, but the game makes it easy by letting you call a car instantly with the touch of the d pad
but sadly there is no fast travel here, youll be driving a lot
most of your time will be spent doing main missions and running through lairs or dungeons
These lairs and dungeons are found in story as well as in the global conflict section of the game which is where you send out your unused members to go out and earn xp and scraps for gremlin tech which is basically a consumable attack
These dungeons are where youll earn mods for your equipped characters
The mission structure here though is practically identical throughout all 20 hours..
    heres the crazy thing though..
The game stays fun throughout inspite of this..
Im surprised how much I ultimately enjoyed agents of mayhem…
while the open world is shallow, the level design is extremely repetitive, and a low health indication like a harsh vibration or blood/discoloration on the screen doesn’t exist..
the heroes with their different moves, diolog, and personalities, the different villians that are fun to hate.. the overall writing in this game.. all of it keep this game fresh and fun throughout…
if youre a fan of hero shooters in any way.. don’t miss out on this one
    I give Agents of Mayhem
    an 8/10

It's like Crackdown had a baby with Saint's Row. There is fun to be had here for sure, but it's repetitious action drags down the experience.

Graphics are fun and smooth. The open world aspect seems to work well although the action seems overly simplistic.

I imagine if you enjoy open world shooters such as Crackdown and the newer Saints Row episodes then you might have some fun playing this game. If you look for something deeper then perhaps this might not be for you.

Nevertheless still a competent open world action third person shooter.
