While they vary ever so slightly in quality, with the original, for my money, edging out the others and number 2 valiantly bringing up the rear, all 3 games are incredibly playable and deeply compelling.

If you haven’t played these games like I have, then this is a no-brainer. Personally, I would wait until the price drops slightly down, because $60 for three remastered games is a bit rich for my blood, especially with a wide range of excellent titles releasing this holiday. With that said, the experience is incredible and the original BioShock remains one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion.
  3. That rare remastered anthology that’s worth your attention.

There are no framerate drops. No dodgy textures. The integrity of in-game mechanics are polished and hold up to the scrutiny we 2016-based reviewers can place upon them.

If you intend to play one of these fascinating and fun adventures for the first time or the tenth, the BioShock Collection is the best way to go about it.

While the return to BioShock's unsettling universe is enjoyable, it's hard to recommend the collection to fans of the original. With only a slight graphical boost, the changes BioShock: The Collection introduces are welcome, but don't warrant a second playthrough for most.

The best way to experience gaming's most loved, if not best, shooter series. [Dec 2016, p.76]

Significant effort was put into the first 2 games while Bioshock Infinite is just a port of the PC version set to "very high" graphics option (I compared it in the past and it was running on the low graphics on last gen systems). Simply put, the YouTube comparisons don't do this collection justice, because the texture quality has been bumped up by a lot in all three games. Moreover, each game runs in 1080p and presents a crisp and vibrant image compared to the washed out and blurry image of the last gen versions. Frame rate is also 60 FPS in all with some dips here and there. There is also no day one patch for any of the titles, so you can play these games out of the box without a problem. The extras are mind blowing with all DLC thrown in and new features like the developer commentary and concept arts. The packaging is also slick. Considering how much effort 2K put into this collection, it's worth the price than most "remasters" being put out at slightly lesser price. Expand

I'm new to the BIOSHOCK series and I'm glad because I get to play it at a very sharp 1080p and at a very smooth running 60 frames per second. Bioshock maybe several years old but it looks like a current gen game, plays like a current gen game and feels like a current gen game. I love the art style and the very interesting yet dark and mysterious story line not to forget the very interesting characters. BIOSHOCK is unique & shines in all areas and this is a must especially for anyone new to the series like myself. Its in my top 10 games of all time without doubt. :) You'll love it. Expand

The graphics,So far, the game is exactly what it should be: a nice remaster of the original games, without any changes to the gameplay. The graphics, especially for the original Bioshock, are a definite upgrade from the original version of the game. The developer commentary is very interesting, and also fun to look for. The achievements, for the most part, are the same achievements that they were for the original games. All in all, I definitely recommend this game to anybody who enjoys Bioshock, or thinks that they want to give it a try. Expand

As someone who only played Bioshock Infinite, Bioshock: The Collection is among the highest value games I have ever played. The fact that itAs someone who only played Bioshock Infinite, Bioshock: The Collection is among the highest value games I have ever played. The fact that it comes with every DLC is what finally sold me on the game. As far the remastering goes, it is exactly what you should expect. Bioshock 1&2 definitely feel like older games that have basically had a facelift, while infinite plays even better than it did on last gen consoles.

The story in Bioshock series is perhaps the best of any videogame I have ever played. I can certainly see how the original is considered among the greatest game of all time. It is a tall task to impress me as much as these three games have so far, and I can't wait to finish all of the additional content that comes with the game like the DLC and directors commentary.
