Apr 13, 2020As an MMO, Bless Unleashed it perfectly serviceable, but those that want to make rapid progression are going to be sorely disappointed and frustrated with many of its draconic design choices. MMO’s are hard to review, as they are constantly evolving, being updated and changing with what the community and developers want. As of this point in time, I can certainly recommend giving Bless Unleashed a shot since I still find myself logging on every day, and given that it’s completely free to play, there’s no real reason not to. Be warned, as you’re in for a long and arduous grind if you stick with it, and it’s incredibly challenging when it comes to combat in the later dungeons, but I only expect Bless to improve in many facets in the future.
Mar 18, 2020Bless Unleashed is a decent enough free-to-play MMORPG that should keep players looking for something they don't have to shell cash out entertained. And luckily, there isn't anything in the cash shop that screams "pay to win," which is something that so many other free-to-play titles have unfortunately succumbed to. There are quite a lot of technical problems, from slow loading textures to combat that really needs some tweaking. but for being one of the first MMO games to exclusively launch on Xbox One, well, it could have been a lot worse.
May 19, 2020The world building, cities and some of the characters are instantly memorable and made me want to learn more. But when coupled with an unpolished backdrop, laggy and uninspired combat and a boring, frustrating grind, it makes it hard to recommend to anyone who is looking for a good free-to-play MMO to check out, especially when alternatives like Warframe and Phantasy Star Online 2 exist on the same platform. Hopefully time brings Bless Unleashed to the level we were all hoping for – but right now it’s just not there. It honestly feels like it needed more time to bake before being released – feeling rushed out to hit a deadline, and it definitely shows in the final result.

It's an mmo. It's the internet. There will always be toxic people in these parts. Bring a thicker skin if you're gonna be playing this game. From my experience everyone has been friendly and helpful. Join a guild so you meet people that are a bit more inclined to being nice to you.
5 Classes at release, go check them out someplace else. IMO ranged characters have an easier time than melee characters. You can try them all at their max level during the tutorial to get a feel for the classes. Character creation system reminds me of monster hunter style creation system. A fair amount of customization. You can make cute tiny ippins or extremely tall vargs!
If you're the type of person to mindlessly tap buttons when attacking then this combat system will not be for you. Combat is great! It makes you really think about what attacks you should be using and where you are positioned. The wrong move being used will lock you in an animation that will most likely get you hit. Once you master when to use your moves, the combat is just so smooth and extremely rewarding.
When traveling to "Disputed Areas" which are PVP enabled zones, most of the time people will just leave you alone. (A low level alt account, that is low level, but has end game weapons and armor equipped makes PvPer's think twice about openly attacking). If you kill people too much and gain notoriety level, you will get stunlocked by guards and can't really go to many places where your quests are because the guards will instantly kill you. This gradually goes away via in game time. At this moment, players who kill have a lot of drawbacks to them.
Enhancing items will lead to better gear score. Getting higher lettered gear will too. GS means how strong a character is. Enhancing items using gold will eventually be risky and can lead to the gear breaking or get weaker. You can repair using a toolkit or a copy of the same item to repait it. Using starseeds, which you get daily, can be used to safely enhance gear without it breaking. Using starseeds can fail the enhancement at a lower rate that gold, but WILL NEVER LOWER the gear's enchancment level, but using gold can.
Guilds are pretty lackluster atm. Just a place to talk and do events with people who are inclined to be nicer to you because you all are in the same guild. Certainly a better way to get a response to a question, meet new people, and group up with more people unless your guild is not really great. I highly recommend guilds to have a discord because guild chat is lame and can get flooded.
I traveled to the places ahead of where my level should be and I was so amazed with how big the map was! The environment is gorgeous as well.
No player trading atm, but there is a well functioning action house where you can use starseeds to buy things.
You can tame animals! For mounts! or so they can provide resources in your estate.
There are currently 3 factions you can join and leave, which give you various boosts and perks to help you. Sentinels are the PvE faction. Court of Ravens are the PvP faction. Ardell Traders are the merchant faction.
I've never seen a console MMO have fairly active game masters be online. They will sometimes miss your concern or question. Or may direct you to make a ticket... People need to understand that the GMs will not always have a solution for your issue.
Give this game a shot! If you like mindlessly repeating attack buttons from close or far away as the bosses aggro on your tank then this is not the mmo for you. You will have to be actively thinking about your next move in combat! Progression really starts to kick in at around level 23+ where everything you have been doing to get to that point just really weaves in together smoothly. It's an mmo with a hint of monster hunter and dark souls. In my opinion, best MMO for consoles atm. Better than Elder Scrolls Online and way better than Black Desert Online. Graphics are nice too!… Expand

The story is a long and winding saga to uncover the culprits and motives to a heinous act of slaughter, and the ensuing chaos left in its wake. Character Creation is based mainly off of Race. You have four races to chose from, Human, Elf, Varg, and Ippin, and each has access to a select range of classes. As in most Fantasy settings, Humans are the most versatile with access to most of the classes. Elves Make for great rangers or mages, playing off of their connection with nature. Varg play out as Berserkers, using their size as leverage in combat. Ippin are small and courageous, taking roles as Priests and Crusaders. The gameplay is heavily character progression based, with two main aspects determining how far you can progress in the story. Your Character Level, and your Gear Score. If you aren't high enough in both of these aspects, some quests aren't even available. The world is enormous! With constant availability to action, between the static encounters and the world bosses. World Bosses are usually HUGE and always a powerful challenge requiring a gathering of players to defeat. The combat is one of the best MMORPG combat systems I've had the pleasure of experiencing with combo strings and dodging, much like The Surge 2. There is never a lack of things to do, even when all you can do is grind to achieve the Level and Gear Score you need to do the next quests. To fans of MMORPGs I highly recomend you check this game out, for a Free-To-Play game, with optional purchases, it packs a World Boss sized package.… Expand

The world is vast,The game is a lot better than I had anticipated. There is no P2W (although there is certainly lots of Pay For Convenience). The world is vast, the combat is weighty, the armor system is engaging, the story is pretty good, and most of all this MMO has brought something back that I felt has been truly lacking in the genre lately... challenge.
Combat is the hardest part about the game. It is slow, it is heavy, and you WILL get punished hard for making mistakes. Some of the biggest problems newer players have is that NEED to finish every combo. The game is not designed to be that way and doing too many finishers will cause you to take a few hits... and enemies hit hard. Dodging also barely has iframes but travels far so you're meant to use it more for quick positioning and animation canceling, especially mid combo. All in all, combat feels similar to Dark Souls 1 speed but with combos and MMO-type abilities. It's challenging and rewarding. Especially when you get to the very epic world bosses and 5-man dungeons which are insanely good. The game also has no passive regen outside of combat. Instead there are basically bonfires throughout the world that allow you to regen health, salvage equipment for materials used to upgrade other equipment, and to cook food that allows you to quickly restore health out in the field. You can also craft, buy, and obtain potions that quickly restore health during combat. This is one of my favorite aspects about the game.
As far as classes and roles go, developers are really pushing to make the table run without any holy trinity. That being said, classes do excel in certain areas. Priests have buffs and heals, Crusaders have naturally higher defense and are the only class with block, etc. However, devs want EVERY comp to be viable, and the skill required for action combat plays a big part in that. Not only that, but you can join a Union that gives you perks such as highly increased threat generation and defensive bonuses for yourself if you want to take on that "tank" role. Also you can basically unlock Skill Loadouts that give you different skills and different passives like increased PvP damage, increased max Health, etc which will further define your intended role.
The stamina system is very tight. At base level, you can really only get 1 dodge in as it takes up more than half of the bar. This is made to ensure dodge spamming can't happen as you dodge really far and really fast. You can build gear that gives you more max stamina and has been confirmed that you can build for 150% max stamina. That being said, I think base level stamina is too low. It's also used for sprinting which drains too fast. I think this is to dissuade people from sprinting so much in combat as spamming dodge and sprinting all over the place would hurt the challenge of combat, and also make PvP real annoying.
Onto PvP, it's important to note that after reaching a certain region of the game, you walk into what is called a disputed zone. This is open PvP similar to Wilderness in Runescape. People can come and attack you and kill you. However, to counter the onslaught of PKing, there is an honor system. The moment you pk and get Notoriety LvL 1, you will be attacked by guards in towns on sight, making story or quest progression as well as trade difficult to impossible. I think the honor system could use some work however.
The bank and bag storage system is pretty tight. Very similar to ESO tight. Bank storage is even worse. It hasn't become a huge issue to me yet but you'll definitely find yourself moving or destroying items for the sake of getting more stuff. I've personally learned to just focus on current tasks at hand and the items that go with it. That being said, the game has bag pieces scattered throughout the world that help increase your max bag storage. Bag storage is probably one of the worst things about the game. That, and the abysmal enhancement system.
One of the most important things is gear score. Gear Score is WAY more important than Level overall. Leveling up only give you a slight boost in attack and a boost in total Health. Gear will be your main source of true stat progression. This is why I cannot stress this enough... CRAFT. Most importantly, there is a grind wall from lvl 16-19. You run out of side quests to do and the only way you can progress story is to get to lvl 19 as theres a required dungeon to progress. I found the grind to not be so bad, especially if you take on all the daily world bosses and work on regional reputation quests, and work on crafting skills. This wall is a GREAT time to work on your crafting skills to help mitigate the feeling of grind. Getting past that wall unlocks a whole new game. It's worth it, like getting through FF14 ARR to get to Heavensward.
Overall, its a good game that can be truly great with the right fixes. Developers and GMs are all over reddit and even have their own discord for feedback to truly make the game shine.… Expand

Holy Trinity: None
Class Variety: 5 Classes, and they're all locked to specific races.
Content: Far from enough considering it is supposed to be an MMORPG.
While the game looks beautiful, graphics doesn't make a game good, period.
They're already following the same path as Bless Online which failed in multiple regions on the PC, and that is a really bad sign. Super expensive cash shop. Almost to the point where you wonder if they designed this game specifically for whales (big spenders) to keep the game running.
Bosses and their mechanics are horribly designed, where you can dodge but you still get hit and in some cases even killed. The Crusader class was designed to be a 'tank' in this game, but it it's much of a tank because it takes just as much damage as a light armor wearer, and it is slow.
Bosses literally have no threat table other than attacking whomever does the most damage, which means the Crusader is useless, and bosses have literally no cooldowns on certain abilities, which makes using combo attacks pointless.
The game uses a Stamina bar system where the bar is consumed by multiple activities such as sprinting, dodging and more. It drains at an insane rate which means you can only sprint for 5-6 seconds and it has a horribly slow regen rate.
Healing in the game is ridiculous as there is no passive health regeneration aka your health does not climb back over time and you need to constantly craft or buy health potions, which is another ridiculous system all together.
Health potions have a seriously long cooldown, and with the current combat mechanics and systems in place, it makes for a horribly unbalanced game, with unbalanced and poorly designed mechanics.
Only viable classes in this game are ranged.
You can only track 1 quest besides your main campaign quest at any given time, which is far from the typical mmorpg way of doing quest tracking.
It has a very high focus on crafting and questing, yet quests are extremely boring/tedious as well as feeling completely unrewarding (literally!) because you need to constantly upgrade your gear to be able to kill stuff, and some stuff are inaccessible until you get to a certain gear score and level or both.
Combat feels unrewarding because of the fact that there's no passive health regen, so you have to as i said, craft and use a ton of potions.
When it comes to the inventory and bank management, it has THE most outrageous designs i have ever seen in my life. Personal character inventory is extremely limited and the bank stash is even worse. You get a total of 8 bank slots, and in order to expand your bank stash you need to fork out real money.
As for the personal inventory you need to run around opening chests to get 1 fragment of which you need to collect 4 of to hand in to get 1 single inventory slot unlocked. Each zone have a limited amount of these chests, and with the amount of stuff you pick up, you're bound to be forced to delete a ton of items, both gear and resources. So you need to make alts, which brings me to the next point.
Character slots. You're limited to only a few character slots, unless you paid a hefty sum for the head start packs.
The camera feels really bad when riding and when fighting. It is far too close to your character/mount and with the lock-on feature it just feels plain horrible, especially when you fight a boss and you use lock-on target. There is no camera zoom option either, so you're stuck with a zoomed-in camera. Cause that's how it feels like.
Overall, it feels like they spent far too little time listening to their community feedback from the betas and stress test. The game feels unfinished and very unpolished in most aspects and is definitely not worthy of the praise these biased white knights give it on reddit/official twitter.
This will be just another Bless Online fiasco. Mark my words.… Expand
