Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the perfect way to keep the Call of Duty franchise fresh. This series can't just stick with modern warfare and past wars every single year. Moving to the far future allows for the introduction of new mechanics, equipment, and especially environments that couldn't be done in other time periods. Not only do series followers get something new here, but science fiction fans who've never touched a Call of Duty will find much to like as well.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a definitive evolution for the franchise, an evolution we desperately needed.

As a whole Infinite Warfare is not perfect game, but that doesn't make it a bad game as all three gameplay elements (story, multiplayer, cooperative) combine to make a solid game that fans, and even non-fans, can enjoy and one that shouldn’t be overlooked this year.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is not the abomination haters would want it to be but it is clear that the franchise is going through an identity crisis. Under its bizarre sci-fi concept, the campaign still has some of the core elements you would expect from the single player mode, but the overly convoluted structure of the multiplayer, chaotic rhythm, the flashy presentation of Zombies in Spaceland and a few technical hiccups will make you hesitate when calling this a Call of Duty game.

A mechanically sound shooter that's hampered by a lack of scale and inventiveness. [Jan 2017, p.88]

With an enjoyable campaign and zombies mode, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is still a worthwhile purchase, although your mileage may vary when it comes to the game's competitive multiplayer. The campaign in particular is well-acted with moments of levity and gravity. However, while these are still good games to play, the now ordinary gameplay may feel a bit stale, particularly for those who have kept up with the series' annual releases for the past decade. After a particularly good year for the first person shooter, Call Of Duty is not a particular stand-out, a far cry from the series must-buy status at its height.

Infinite Warfare could have been much more than a passable single-player movie attached to a super fast, super confident multiplayer infrastructure. As such, and with those moments of tantalising potential in mind, it feels like a wasted opportunity.

The Singleplayer Campaign is probably the best in the series since Modern Warfare and I actually enjoyed the story as the cast is amazing, and the space battles are done very well. Multiplayer is standard honestly and not much has changed since black ops 3 which it's crap honestly since there was amazing ideas in the campaign they just discarded for the specialist style of gameplay, there's no changes to the UI (HUD) too.
Zombies looks amazing and unfortunately I haven't played it much though but will spend a lot of time into it.

Everyone should jump off the hate bandwagon and try it out before hating on it its sad how the main level based achievements were classified as rare ones since they are usually common ones and it does not deserve the hate its been getting

Same thing with the dislikes, it became sort of a trend to dislike the trailer so that's why people do it. There's scientists who says if something is trending or people expect something they will believe it but I don't want to go too deep into science about a video game. I'm not trying to be a sucker for this because I've never played this but I wanted to point out the facts, I prefer a boots on ground original call of duty gameplay style but if you don't like the game or the game trailer just don't buy it idiots Expand

Great campaign with a loadout choice for the start of most missions, good characters, and many optional missions. The villains are quite generic however, and not even John Snow can save them from being bad. Zombies in Spaceland is a great map that is fun and silly, and it stands out on its own. I've heard good things about the other maps as well, but unfortunately they're not free. Multiplayer is the weakest part of this game, however, with small maps that look nice but are just the same as BO3. It's fun to shoot people, and some of the weapons are kinda neat, but nothing revolutionary unfortunately. Good game overall; got way too much hate. Expand

The campaign in this game is the most interesting part of this installment, it provides an alright story with plenty of missions and side-missions. As a computer science professional, I can tell you with confidence that the majority of this game is copy and pasted from Black Ops 3. TheAs a computer science professional, I can tell you with confidence that the majority of this game is copy and pasted from Black Ops 3. The rigs or should I say (Destiny super rip offs) have once again made their way into COD. Super abilities belong in Destiny, not COD; they RUIN the consistency of game play. We don't need or want both supers and kill streaks in COD. Wall running doesn't belong in COD either, maps are too small for that. I think Advanced Warfare was a good formula for a future setting COD, the boost jump and strafing movement were creative and brought something new to COD, but now these COD's are just over the top. Time to bring boots back on the ground, hopefully Vietnam or Korea war setting next. COD needs to return to the great formulas of its past if it wants to will old fans over again.

Graphics aren't nothing to right home about, not very photo-realistic and COD4 looked much more realistic. Infinite Warfare maps look like something straight out of a child care day center. However, If you enjoyed Black Ops 3, I think you will enjoy this game a lot!

Now back to my real man's game, Battlefield 1...
