Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the perfect way to keep the Call of Duty franchise fresh. This series can't just stick with modern warfare and past wars every single year. Moving to the far future allows for the introduction of new mechanics, equipment, and especially environments that couldn't be done in other time periods. Not only do series followers get something new here, but science fiction fans who've never touched a Call of Duty will find much to like as well.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a definitive evolution for the franchise, an evolution we desperately needed.

As a whole Infinite Warfare is not perfect game, but that doesn't make it a bad game as all three gameplay elements (story, multiplayer, cooperative) combine to make a solid game that fans, and even non-fans, can enjoy and one that shouldn’t be overlooked this year.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is not the abomination haters would want it to be but it is clear that the franchise is going through an identity crisis. Under its bizarre sci-fi concept, the campaign still has some of the core elements you would expect from the single player mode, but the overly convoluted structure of the multiplayer, chaotic rhythm, the flashy presentation of Zombies in Spaceland and a few technical hiccups will make you hesitate when calling this a Call of Duty game.

A mechanically sound shooter that's hampered by a lack of scale and inventiveness. [Jan 2017, p.88]

With an enjoyable campaign and zombies mode, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is still a worthwhile purchase, although your mileage may vary when it comes to the game's competitive multiplayer. The campaign in particular is well-acted with moments of levity and gravity. However, while these are still good games to play, the now ordinary gameplay may feel a bit stale, particularly for those who have kept up with the series' annual releases for the past decade. After a particularly good year for the first person shooter, Call Of Duty is not a particular stand-out, a far cry from the series must-buy status at its height.

Infinite Warfare could have been much more than a passable single-player movie attached to a super fast, super confident multiplayer infrastructure. As such, and with those moments of tantalising potential in mind, it feels like a wasted opportunity.

The Singleplayer Campaign is probably the best in the series since Modern Warfare and I actually enjoyed the story as the cast is amazing, and the space battles are done very well. Multiplayer is standard honestly and not much has changed since black ops 3 which it's crap honestly since there was amazing ideas in the campaign they just discarded for the specialist style of gameplay, there's no changes to the UI (HUD) too.
Zombies looks amazing and unfortunately I haven't played it much though but will spend a lot of time into it.

Everyone should jump off the hate bandwagon and try it out before hating on it its sad how the main level based achievements were classified as rare ones since they are usually common ones and it does not deserve the hate its been getting

Same thing with the dislikes, it became sort of a trend to dislike the trailer so that's why people do it. There's scientists who says if something is trending or people expect something they will believe it but I don't want to go too deep into science about a video game. I'm not trying to be a sucker for this because I've never played this but I wanted to point out the facts, I prefer a boots on ground original call of duty gameplay style but if you don't like the game or the game trailer just don't buy it idiots Expand

Is the game a piece of s---, no, it's not. Could it be improved, yes, it can.

The campaign is an improvement with it's small HUB where you can choose to do some side missions if you want to get some better gear or upgrades to your fighter jet. The best part of the campaign are the Jet fights. These missions are fast, chaotic and a blast to feel like your a badass. However, the campaign suffers from a weak narrative, generic characters and possibly the worst villain in Cod history. 6-7 hours in length, BTW.

The multiplayer though, gets praise from me for including splitscreen and the balanced pick 10 system from BL 2 and AW.

Zombies is also fun as well.

Sure Salter is bae butGreat graphics and colorful gameplay make the campaign seem like a sizzle real of the power of current gen hardware. Sure Salter is bae but her character along with all the others are the least cool out of any to date. If you showed me this years ago, I would not think it was made by Infinity Ward. The hallmark of call of duty single player is the worlds best cinematic moments. But Infinite Warfare doesn't really have any, at least not even close to the memorable ones in the past. It's all predictable and poorly written. With huge explosions going off almost constantly I couldn't be wowed at any particular moment. The only real break in the worn out formula is going to the ship between missions. Eavesdropping on conversations and listening to audio logs feel like a poor imitation of better games in that respect like Bioshock Infinite. The multiplayer is passable in it's clear copying of TitanFall which actually took the whole movement mechanics besides wall running from the Crysis series.(Give Crytek a billion dollars). And after playing a huge load of Black Ops Zombies(good times) the z mode is not worth playing at all. While doubtful, it would be a great thing if the call of duty franchise took a long hiatus(is a decade enough?). That way, better games could get the recognition they will soon deserve. Expand

So I give it a 4 I guess... A bad rating but at least not a big rigs bad rating lol. Sad thing is that I'm probably helping the user rating go up actually lol.
