There’s something here for everyone, as it feels like almost three separate games based on what you prefer to play. Sledgehammer Games has become a great storyteller with their (mostly) exciting campaign, solid multiplayer that keeps you hooked as you level up and earn Supply Drops, and a Nazi Zombie mode that’s sure to have you and your friends scratching your heads trying to solve its mysteries. They could have played it safe, but they weren’t happy with the status quo, which is where Headquarters and War spawned from, a great multiplayer addition to the series, and one that I hope stays going forward. It’s time to get the squad back together and get back into some intense World War II action as Call of Duty is indeed back and this year’s entry is pretty much a ‘must play’ for fans of the series, and fans of video games alike.

The campaign production values are amazing as always, with excellent acting and motion capture, huge set pieces, and a fair bit of variety. And of course, WWII shows serious dedication to multiplayer with the new headquarters social hub, the excellent new war mode, and a gritty co-op Zombies mode. Whether you're interested in campaign or multiplayer, Call of Duty: WWII is the complete package and a must-play first-person shooter this holiday season.

A welcome return to the origins for Call of Duty, with an immersive campaign and a classic multiplayer. The new Zombi mode is the one that feels more improved and a step forward, while multiplayer could have used a bit more of innovation, but it's still highly enjoyable.

Call of Duty WWII isn’t a perfect game, but it is a solid one. What we really miss is a graphical upgrade on its engine and a campaign mode with more personality. Feels good to be back at World War II with the great gameplay that the game offers, its multiplayer and the always fun zombie mode.

Call of Duty: WWII is a game that was much requested by fans and ultimately hits most of its targets. The story mode's focus on in-the-trenches brotherhood falls short of its mark due to introducing a dozen or so characters and only getting a few of them to stand out. However, if you're coming back to the series annually you're probably in it for its other two modes, multiplayer and zombies. In both instances, they innovate in fun ways. At times, it does feel like the whole package benefits from the simple timeline swap. If you gave up on the franchise's small maps and repetitive story structure, WWII doesn't do enough to make you want to come back. It remains true to itself, for better or worse. For anyone who still plays the games with glee every November, Call of Duty: WWII is a better-late-than-never return to the series' roots.

Call of Duty: WWII is most definitely a more than decent entry to the franchise. The return of boots-on-the-ground gameplay is certainly welcomed and it’s good to see Sledgehammer Games take a little risk and try out some new features.

This feels like the most wheel-spinning, by-the-numbers Call of Duty they've made thus far.

Passed on Infinite Warfare because I was sick of the futuristic CODs; however, decided to give WWII a go since WAW was one of my favorite CODs of all time. Also, I think Advanced Warfare was a great game since it wasn't completely over the top with the futuristic crap and it brought fun/innovation to the COD series, hence giving Sledgehammer Games my support again. Kinda disappointed with only getting 9 multiplayer maps when older CODs would give us 14 or so at launch. Weapons are cool and sound great. The new War mode is fun and engaging; I always wondered what it would be like to be a German soldier mowing down the Americans from the machine gun bunker on the beaches of Normandy (you get to do this in one of the War mode sections). There's a new social space like Destiny's tower which allows you team up with others, tryout score streaks, do weapon paint jobs, and pick up challenges that help with level progression and allow you to acquire special weapons/gear. Lastly, it's great to have boots on the ground again!

The graphics are good for what the outdated engine will allow but the developers need to design a new COD engine if they want to keep up with Destiny and Battlefield visuals. Sledgehammer Games did a great job again and delivered a fine product. It's not perfect by no means but there's not too much to complain about. If they would've used an updated engine and delivered more maps, most of us COD fans would be more than happy. Lastly, it's great to have boots on the ground again!

Campaign was a decent length and there was fun to be had. Zombies was good but I think the COD Zombies modes have gotten over complicated after BO2. I go back to Black Ops zombie maps from time to time, I don't see myself revisiting COD: WW2 zombies in the future. Also World at War has this game beat, but still, I like this game too, just not as much... Keep trying Activision. Expand

I can’t believe all the bad critics to CoD IW from the CoD community (haters doesn’t count, they hate every CoD), infinity Ward made a better game than CoD WWII, at least a complete game.

This game is very"weird". sometimes its fun, other times you feel like screaming at your TV or monitor.

    CAMPAIGN.

The campaign is all over the place. My favorite mission in this "campaign" is the first mission. if the first mission is the only good mission, thats when you have just **** up big time. I legit forgot the ending, but i dont need to know the ending to know what its gonna be. Its gonna end all like your the best and no one else could have done what you did. the "campaign" feels more like im watching a on rails movie then a actual game. The amount of explosions in the "campaign" felt like i was watching a battle unfold in fallout 4 if they all had fat mans.

    ZOMBIES.

Zombies is actually really underrated. I mean, i know it do'sent really have anything special about it but if you think about it, neither did nacth dier untoten from WAW, same with verrtuck, shi no numa, and kino der toten. people always say those are the best maps ever, but they only say that because its treyarch. Like the "campaign" theirs a lot of explosions . Im actually okay with it because its made up so i dont give a **** now lets go into the biggest part of the game yet, the reason you bought this ****ing game.

    MULTI--wait i gotta wait for a update? k.

    MULTIPLAYER.

Multiplayer is really unbalanced. i mean all of these "nerf's" and "buffs" really do nothing. so what if they nerfed the STG or the FG42, those guns are still really overpowered. the maps are all the same in this game, left middle right. The new DLC guns are trash, the gewher 43 is like a m1a1 carbine, the sten is like a **** version of the grease gun, the GPMG is worse then pre-buffed Bren, the Ice Pick needs a little more range, the trench knifve is ok. my favriote map is opetation neptune. and thats it. TA TA, ****
