  1. Thanks to beautifully balanced combat, gorgeous and cleverly designed levels, and an almost ridiculous amount of depth and replayability – traits all noticeably absent in Alien Creeps TD – the high price tag is absolutely worth it.

A technically competent and pretty tower defense game with a couple of fresh ideas. [Nov 2014]

DG2 successfully delivers on keeping up the quality of the first game, without revolutionizing the gameplay but adding some welcome new features.

There are plenty of challenges. [Issue#117, p.84]

Defense Grid 2 may not be the most original idea, and lacks any real character in its story and presentation, but it is the unique gameplay ideas that make it a success.

A game that feels both very new and very old at the same time. [Dec 2014, p.87]

It's great fun in short bursts though and fans of the genre will enjoy the challenges offered by some of the more intense game modes.

The graphics are simply gorgeous. There are some challenging parts to the game, but it will leave you thinking and re-engaging to try another strategy later on. The story is interesting, and the voice acting can be a bit cartoon-ish at times, but nothing to leave the player annoyed. Overall, great game, lots of features and strategy involved! Expand

It's strategy like gameplay feels right and new to me. And while the single player story isn't really that good, it's rising difficulty made me rethink my strategy which was a fun challenge that made me replay it more. The multiplayer is ok, but it's not for me. Overall, if you want a simple defense tower game, this is for you. Expand

Amazing single player gameplay, very much like the other one with extra's to make it feel fresh.

As for multilayer on the xbox one it's a joke, unable to join games and any games started resulting in DC after ~10 second. If you are playing this for single player or couch coop and like tower defence games it's great, if you liked defence grid 1 it's great. But if you are like me and wanted a vs strategy for the xbox one that wasn't a moba don't get it. You can't play online( tested only on xbox one ) . 10/10 singleplayer but if you bought / buying it for multilayer vs don't it's broken .
