If you’re looking for a casual puzzle game that you can pick up and drop whenever you’re in the mood, this is a great bit of fun. It does have a lot of great combinations but also a lot that just made no sense. The micro-transaction part is an annoying idea, but in the end, it’s really up to the player to decide if they would like to speed up their game by using their own money. The campaign was a letdown, but I guess it’s better than not having one at all. When they release another Doodle God game, I most certainly will pick it up.

Doodle God: Crime City is a solid, enjoyable experience if played in short, regular bursts. However, it does lack the crucial “one more go” factor whilst doing little to develop things as you play through the game. This might be one best left to the puzzle enthusiasts.

Doodle God: Crime City just isn’t challenging enough nor interesting enough to recommend. There’s no doubt whatsoever that Doodleheads will find enjoyment here, but if you’re on the lookout for a compelling puzzle experience that innovates and excites, you’re not going to find those qualities in this game.

If you enjoyed previous Doodle God games then you're sure to have a good time with Crime City. With that said, most gamers probably won't find much to like about randomly combining things to make other things.

I’ve always liked the presentation in the Doodle God game’s and thankfully once again both the visuals and sound design ticked a lot of boxesI’ve always liked the presentation in the Doodle God game’s and thankfully once again both the visuals and sound design ticked a lot of boxes for me. The story isn’t perfect in some instances I actually found it to be pretty enjoyable and it did enough to hold my attention throughout. Combining different elements is as fun and enjoyable as ever and in some cases some of the items you have to combine are actually pretty clever. The easy to pick up and play style that’s present in the game means gamers of all ages can enjoy what this game has to offer. When played for long periods the game does get repetetive quite quickly so I would recommend that you play the game in short bursts. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount for you to sink your teeth into. I enjoyed that the game was quite easy in parts it still would’ve been nice to have been challenged a little bit more every now and then. I love the Doodle God game’s because they never take themselves seriously and they offer you a nice fun and relaxing experience. As you can imagine then I was eager to get to grips with Doodle God: Crime City and whilst it has a few imperfections that hold it back a little it still didn’t stop me from enjoying my time with the game. Once again you have to combine different items to progress through the missions and once again it’s fun doing this when played in short bursts. I recommend that you play the game this way because the gameplay doesn’t have much in terms of depth so it does get repetetive quite quickly. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount, which is a shame because the story and content it does have has been done pretty well. Another aspect of the game that has been done well is its presentation and without a doubt both the visuals and sound design make the gameplay become quite immersive. At the end of the day then even though it would’ve been nice if the gameplay was a little more challenging and had more depth to it Doodle God: Crime City still does enough to get a thumbs up from me because it’s fun and gamers of all ages can get something out of the game.
