Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends was a surprise for me. I expected another quick license cash-in, and instead got a pretty solid Smash Bros. clone. The price feels a little hefty considering there is DLC also available, and let’s be fair, these characters don’t have the draw of Nintendo’s roster, but for those without a Wii U, it is a solid substitute.

While Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends won't replace Smash Bros. in terms of addiction and fun, it's a solid alternative for those that don't have a Nintendo console on hand. It has its issues, but it also packs a punch with its four-player match-ups, and makes for a good time for family and friends alike. Dibs on Po!

Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends doesn't compare to the series that obviously inspired it, but it's still a rather solid and enjoyable fighter.

Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends is a lot better than I expected it to be, but it still suffers from a lack of polish in the gameplay department. If you're a casual fighting game fan, really dig the franchise, and have some friends to play with though, you'll probably have an awesome time.

It's not great at all, but it's playable. I enjoy the terrible voice acting and puns with each match starting up, but the game play is pretty tight and somewhat enjoyable. The game is not something that you would swear by and play all the time, but it's fun for what it is. It's pretty much just smash brothers with some characters being completely broken and others being ridiculously under-powered. But at least you can enjoy the basics of the game and have fun with it. With the game not being expensive and you being able to do all the story mission stuff in about 10 hours, you could definitely still pick the game up every now and then and get a cheap laugh at the knock off. Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends
    Not much here
Showdown of Legendary Legends is a smash bros inspired brawler that can be played either local or online with up to 4 players
    However this isn’t much here…
Theres a typical verses mode, an online mode, and the tournament of legends mode…
Tournament of legends is the meat of this game…
It’s a mode where you choose one of this games 20 characters, choose a difficulty, and battle your way through a variety of 10 different matches to win the tournament of legends…
The variety here in the modes is nice…
It stops the tournament from getting boring as fast as it otherwise would..
But ultimately it doesn’t help this game feel the least bit of fun…
Youll be going through 2 on 2 matches, 2 on 1, 3 on 1, 4v4, 1v1, youll be playing king of the hill type matches all on the games 12 different stages…
Thankfully stages do have a bit of personality to them…
Not as much as smash bros.. but its there
They all feel unique and require different play styles…
and each characters thankfully feels unique here as well..
This is the only thing it does better than a game like brawlhalla for example.. is that each character feels different…
they have a different weight to them and a different set of moves…
Though for better or for worse, the control scheme here is insanely simple..
You have a normal attack that you can charge and a special attack… that’s it..
characters can also block and dodge, but youll mostly just be looking for the characters whos special attack and normal attack you like best…
and some of them are easily spammable…
throughout the matches there are pick ups to call in characters to help you knock opponents off the map, as well as weapons to do the same and health pickups to help you not be knocked around so easy…
And as the match goes on and you do damage youll be able to fill up an awesome meter and pull off an awesome move, which is almost for most characters a guaranteed ko…
    but that’s it.. that’s the game…
this is a very mediocre brawler..
The game functions, the online feels smooth… but because everything is so simple, matches ultimately feel button mashy rather than strategic, hectic, or fun.
if you don’t have a character with spammable moves, youre basically just seeing who gets the luckiest hits, who can take the least amount of damage or who can get to pickups first..
I give Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends
    a 5/10
