While on-pitch matters between these two old foes are too close to call, Fifa’s breathtaking scope secures yet another silver pot for an already heaving trophy cabinet.

FIFA 16 is a beautiful game about the beautiful game. Driven by a need for authenticity, EA has created an unparalleled soccer simulation that improves upon FIFA 15 in every aspect. While the game’s elaborate controls and elite presentation still make it challenging for the uninitiated, steps have been taken to help welcome new players.

Lots of small improvements both on and off the pitch make this the best FIFA in years.

FIFA 16 doesn’t reinvent football, but talks about football: CPU might be a little ‘too perfect’, and the goal keepers are far from perfect, but the game is a step forward in the right direction.

EA Sports have taken a fantastic game and tweaked it to make it just that little bit better. The passing mechanic feels slightly worse but in the end that is also forcing players to utilise the entire range of passing abilities so it is possible that this is by design. FIFA 16 is the best FIFA to date.

A marked improvement over last year, but the absence of pace is sorely missed. FIFA 16 is not as good on the pitch as PES this year – again – but it’s a great football game regardless, with unrivalled off the pitch options.

FIFA 16 is an incremental improvement, but with legacy issues still plaguing the on-field action the changes feel hollow in light of PES 2016's overwhelming turnaround.

With the addition of much improved AI, a driven ground pass, and no-touch dribbling, this year's game favors players who know how to pass around and outsmart their opponents. Women's national teams are also a welcome addition. Expand

The key improvements have made a massive difference and I for one love it! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Been good for a while but these last few years beginning to look in need of a rebuild, as EA have got complacent and PES has popped up out of nowhere with a superior game engine.
Not much difference between fifa 15 and 16 and thats no more than one would expect from EA, the only way things will change is if less people blindly buy it purely for the sake of it being fifa.

There is really nothing besides new player upgrades, new pictures, and new animation but nothing of substance. FIFA 16 is basically a 60 dollar DLC. the one new thing they added in fut draft, which in pretty fun until you realize it costs 15K of in game coins to enter each time. you get a max of four matches with the squad, but what if you get unlucky and draft a squad you hate too bad you just wasted 15K. thats not the worst part. You do get your money back in the form of packs, but packs are well packs and you end up losing your 15K everytime. I love the new fut draft mode but couldn't they have taken the time to make an option for users to play in for no reward, in other words just play it for fun. Overall if your thinking about getting this, don't. you can edit players in FIFA 15 and use futhead to give them their FIFA 16 stats and done. you now have FIFA 16 without wasting an extra 60 dollars for a facelift. And it is supposed to get better every year... It just doesn't. Offsides are bugged - refs are calling offside even when both passer and receiver are behind defence. Getting yellow/red cards is random - you can tackle goalkeeper and get yellow, yet run into another player and get red one. Collision detection is horrible, generally physics are not very realistic. Another EA licensed product going to trash... wasted money... I won't even mention poor passing and enemies scoring 3 goals in 5 minutes and your defenders being helpless.... Expand
