If you're looking for something retro and breezy to play through in an evening, you’ll have a great time with Gato Roboto on Xbox One. This is a funny and charming experience from beginning to end, and it's clear the developers deeply understand, and are fans of, the genre they were working with.

You will play mainly through 4 to 5 big scenarios, each with its clear goal until you reach the final boss. The story is short, simple, and funny. If you are curious about Gato Roboto, I recommend to aproach with low expectations and it will feel rewarding Expand

Gato Roboto is a monochrome retro Metroidvania platformer. Hailing back to the original Metroid, and rocking two-tone pixel graphics, GatoGato Roboto is a monochrome retro Metroidvania platformer. Hailing back to the original Metroid, and rocking two-tone pixel graphics, Gato Roboto nails what it does. You play as Kiki, the hero's Cat. Well, the hero is he wasn't stuck in the ship. After a crash landing at the research facility you're sent to investigate, Gary the captain is stuck, and asks his cat to help, then questions his sanity. So in his stead Kiki wanders off to save the day. But to do that Kiki gets to don a high powered military battle mech. Now with all of its Metroid hanging out for the world to see you get to explore a massively interconnected map while searching for powerups to make Kikis' suit more powerful. But you don't get to spend the entire time in the safety and comfort of your mech, as there are areas where Kiki must climb out of the suit to make it into places the suit cannot. Despite its lack of colors, Gato Roboto is loaded to the brim with great Metroidvania action. One of the neat features of the game is Cartridges that you can find hidden around the map, allowing you to change the base and color of the game, making it more, or less, like playing on an old Game Boy. The game is just fun top to bottom and isn't ashamed of its inspiration, as they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery. Expand
