There's more love and care lavished on The Master Chief Collection than you see in countless other big-money, brand new blockbuster releases. The fact that the games themselves are fantastic fun online and off is the cherry on the icing.

In terms of pure content, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is simply massive. In terms of the content itself, this package is astounding. Four of the best shooter campaigns ever made, in one box, all running at 1080p at 60fps, Halo has never looked so good. Throw in over 100 multiplayer maps and a bevy of Halo themed extras and you have a recipe for a true system seller.

Longtime Halo fans get the opportunity to quickly and easily revisit their favourite levels, or jump into a reinvigorated multiplayer; newcomers to the series get the best, most seamless experience of the Halo series.

If you like games that are so big you can immerse yourselves in them for months, The Master Chief Collection offers excellent value. It’s an absolute monolith of a package, beautifully presented for the 21st century. And with the remastered next-gen GTA V due to arrive shortly, it seems that, at least as far as video games are concerned, nostalgia is the future.

A bit of a disaster...Why? It's a half-assed, crudely cobbled-together product prone to crashing, lockups (and as of press time) absolutely non-functional multiplayer.

Replay old memories with new graphics and sound effects. The new cinematics really adds up to the game. Plus, you have all 3 other games with it. It's a very good deal overall for only 60$. It's a must have for your game collection on your xbox one.

The only thing negative things are maybe loading that are too long, sometimes some FPS drop on campaign. Also, matchmaking are broken right now since it takes an eternity to find players. I hope it will get fix soon enough :)

Master Chief had seen better days...
The launch of this game was a catastrophe, it was somsthing like Cyberpunk 2077 to be honest, it lacked the halo feeling as well. During these years 343 worked on it and to be honest the master chief collection that exists today is really good. On PC this game is the best way to experience the halo franchise, for the xbox players it is a good deal as well. It is more suitable for the pc players because they never owned or experienced the original titles.

In terms of value, MCC is unbeaten as you get access to multiple masterpieces both in terms of campaigns and multiplayers. The problem is MCCIn terms of value, MCC is unbeaten as you get access to multiple masterpieces both in terms of campaigns and multiplayers. The problem is MCC takes away many features from the individual games and adds problems (mostly multiplayer orientated). For example, the aim assist is way too strong in MCC which lowers the skill gap tremendously and can lead to a lot of trades and unfair gunfights when its controller vs mnk. Another issue is the MCC progression system, the level system is so boring it hurts and gives you no incentive to level up besides a slightly different icon instead of having unique levels like reach and 3 which help you to unlock new armor and stand out. Also, the way to unlock armor is as boring as it gets with a battle pass style system where you just unlock things in a set order pretty much instead of the reach style where you save up credits and level up so when people have rare items they are unique but in mcc everyone has these items. 343 Also decided to get rid of map voting/veto which sucks. Overall, for me at least multiplayer is not as fun as it was back in the day.
Another HUGE problem is co-op campaign, if you dont host you will have a lot of input lag and delay for some reason which makes it very annoying to play, this is the worst on halo 2 where the lobby will crash all of the time forcing you to restart the mission. The original games didnt have these problems.
I love the Halo franchise and MCC is great for allowing people to play all of the older games but the multiplayer is a huge downgrade from the original and the campaigns can be unplayable in co-op. :(
