"In terms of pure content, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is simply massive. In terms of the content itself, this package is astounding. Four of the best shooter campaigns ever made, in one box, all running at 1080p at 60fps, Halo has never looked so good. Throw in over 100 multiplayer maps and a bevy of Halo themed extras and you have a recipe for a true system seller. " ... Read full review

"If you like games that are so big you can immerse yourselves in them for months, The Master Chief Collection offers excellent value. It’s an absolute monolith of a package, beautifully presented for the 21st century. And with the remastered next-gen GTA V due to arrive shortly, it seems that, at least as far as video games are concerned, nostalgia is the future." ... Read full review

The Master Chief Collection is a must buy for Halo and Xbox fans alike.

The collection bundles Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 with 60 FPS on all and a very nicely re-skinned and touched up edition of Halo 2.

One important thing to note is that the Remastered edition of Halo 1 also makes an appearance here and a nice touch was in the way you transition in both Halo 1 and 2 between the remastered and original additions no longer includes a fade to black, its instant and very fun to play with, you will not believe how far gaming has come.

But halo is nothing without multiplayer, I will admit, I was very frustrated with the multiplayer being broken so long after launch, but since that time I have enjoyed hundreds of extremely fun online games.

For example being able to go back and play Halo 1 online as it was meant to be played was a very rewarding experience and really took me back to my childhood.

It should also be noted that the Master Chief Collection has also gained Spartan Ops since launch which featured in Halo 4.

All in all one of the most generous and well put together bundles in the history of gaming and I'd also like to give props to 343 for rewarding us with Halo ODST later this year for our troubles, one of my favorite games of the Franchise and I very much look forward to it.

Replay old memories with new graphics and sound effects. The new cinematics really adds up to the game. Plus, you have all 3 other games with it. It's a very good deal overall for only 60$. It's a must have for your game collection on your xbox one.

The only thing negative things are maybe loading that are too long, sometimes some FPS drop on campaign. Also, matchmaking are broken right now since it takes an eternity to find players. I hope it will get fix soon enough :)

Halo: Combat Evolved -
This wasn’t a fun way to start the series for me.. I hope this doesn’t discredit the rest of my reviews here but I didn’t like this game.. the story is good & the soundtrack holds up but that’s where the positives end for me.. for the Master Chief collection it would’ve been nice if they fully remastered this game too cuz it seriously needs some fine tuning after all these years, even with an enhanced version I still can’t get past a lot of the flaws here. This is a issue I have with the series as a whole but I’m not a fan of the physics. Yeah, jumping 10 feet in the air, having Moon gravity for vehicles or when you get melee’d by an enemy is funny sometimes but.. when it’s the cause of deaths is when I have an issue.. nothing will ever be worse than the vehicle sections in the first Mafia game but DAMN do the Warthog sections come in a close second for worst driving in a game ever. Especially the last one, I nearly tore my hair out. Not a fan of the control scheme either. I beat the game in about 5 1/2 hours even with the amount of times i got lost in the empty environments. Were they going for open world but gave up halfway through? Ugh. Don’t let your nostalgia cloud your mind on this one, I can see this getting a full remake in the near future & I think it would be much better for it. 4/10, maybe a 5 if I’m feeling generous some days. Halo 2: Anniversary Edition -
Halo 2 was the only game I never got to play from the original series since I never owned an original Xbox. I played the remastered version why wouldn’t I? The game looks STUNNING in its updated glory too, on par with some games coming out today. I love the feature they implemented for Combat Evolved & 2 that lets you switch between the OG visuals & the updated ones with the click of a button, it’s a cool little feature I wish more remasters would take on. The story is more fleshed out this time, as is the gameplay. They improved upon everything from the 1st game, the mark of a good sequel. I really enjoyed how we get to see the Covenant’s side too, it’s always fun to play as the bad guys, especially when they’re aliens! The physics still aren’t my thing but from game to game they seem to be toned down a little more. It’s been talked about to death but the ending leaves a lot to be desired, the painful part of being the middle chapter in a trilogy. If I had to wait 3 years for Halo 3 like I’m sure many of you did back then, I’d be mad too. Still, it’s a 5 hour campaign that’s a ton of fun! 8/10.

Halo 3 -
Both Reach & Halo 3 made up a lot of my childhood. I sunk HOURS into the multiplayer modes with my little brother over the years & I have the fondest memories of 3 more than any other, so did the nostalgia hold up over 10 years later? YUP. This is still my fave in the series. The story never stops which can be exhausting in other games, but I finished the campaign in a little over 4 hours (shocked myself on that one tbh) & it’s consistently engaging with obviously massive stakes that I can finally appreciate as an adult. Somehow they improved everything even more since Halo 2. The linearity might be an issue for some but i appreciate Bungie making these games less open over the years. The short story might be an issue, I would’ve loved to play hours more of it but if it can cause such a good reaction in me in a short amount of time, I’m glad I experienced it. I would’ve loved to see this entry get as much love the other remasters got (despite it still looking great for a game from 2007, wow I’m old) so maybe someday we’ll get a remake of this one too. 9/10!

Halo 4 -
So I never actually played this one, I watched my lil bro play it when it came out &.. we both hated it. Now almost 10 years have passed & I’m playing it for the first time, I definitely don’t hate it anymore. However, it’s still flawed. The visuals are still stunning to look at, despite being a late 360 title. The soundtrack stands out a lot too, but all Halo games have bangers. They did change the gameplay a bit though, Chief can run now & they seem to have played with the physics again, not for the better imo. The story is more cinematic which is both good & weird to me. Some parts just kinda made the game feel more generic, something Halo never was in my mind. Seems like 343 had a lot of big ideas but only paid off a few of them here. The enemies are more bullet spongey than in other entries, & it definitely got on my nerves. Overall, it’s not bad, I’m glad I finally experienced it first hand. Visuals & soundtrack are solid, gameplay is good with some annoying as hell parts & enemies, & the story had so much more potential even with a decent pay off. Campaign took me a lil over 5 hours. 6/10.

if this is your first halo game... BE WARNED this games multiplayer has NO noobs and all of the players are amazing online and incredibly hardif this is your first halo game... BE WARNED this games multiplayer has NO noobs and all of the players are amazing online and incredibly hard to beat EVEN KNOWING EVERYTHING EVERYBODY HAS IS THE SAME!
If you have played all the halo games and are very good at Halo you are missing out on a lot. GET THIS GAME AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!

The campaign is good fun but when i play with my friend not far away we CONSTANTLY HAVE PROBLEMS! we both have brilliant internet connections but every single time we play we spend an hour on loading screens and give up.

Personal belief: this was my first halo game, so i am a noob. i found it constantly hard to feel like i was contributing to my team when playing online because i struggle to understand somethings that are very irritating.
Example: sometimes im constantly shooting at someone WITH ACCURACY, they take two shots at me and im dead.

I personally couldn't wait for this game, but as a noob at halo i found it very hard to play online and certain things also baffled me how unfair it sometimes feels. It made me feel completely useless... i have raged quit soooo many times with this game

The campaigns are fun when they work, but co op online with a friend seemed to be a struggle for Halo 2 especially, this being because of the graphics
