Hawken is one of the best free to play titles on the market, also playable without spending money. On xbox one textures are poor and there is an annoying tearing, but overall it is good to see and play.

Hawken has surprisingly re-emerged in consoles. Its style combines a fun, fast, frantic and a little strategic gameplay with the customization of your machine to adapt it to playing style, providing great depth and does not even feeling limited by the sense of pay-to-win.

A title you have to try if you always dreamed of piloting a mech, but it'll need new content on a regular basis to keep its players engaged.

Hawken is a good multiplayer game with its strength in balancing. Although it's free we don't stand in front of the annoying pair F2P / Pay to Win. The game has some technical issues, a frame rate too far from being stable, but the great job done with the gameplay will make you get over those pains. Considering the F2P nature of the product, we really hope in future upgrades of the game- hopefully resolving some netcode problems - that now is quite poor in terms of contents. However if you are a mech-fighting fan and you are looking for a good multiplayer game that could entertain you should, without pretending too much, definitely give the Reloaded Games product a try.

I played this game on the PC back in 2012 pretty religiously and it feels exactly the same on the Xbox. The controls are a bit hard to get used to since piloting a mech is not the same as a person and you can't remap anything but I found that it's no problem after half an hour.

A lot of the gameplay is centered on map awareness, movement, and knowing how to use your specific mech. With over 30 mechs that all fit into some sort of niche in the class based shooter genre (TF2 style), every play style you can imagine is covered. one example would be the Scout mech; fast, hard hitting, and great for harassing the enemy team in urban maps. another would be the brawler; heavily armored with a rapid fire shotgun and rocket launcher, this mech is slow moving but able to move into a bottleneck and push its way through. The Predator is fast, shoots sticky explosives along with a sniperifle and has a special ability to lower incoming damage. Literally everything imaginable is here.

I've read some complaintson the Hawken forums from xbox players saying that the graphics are bad, aiming is hard, turning is too slow, and the bots are too jittery but that is all part of the original design of the game. Remember that this is a game from 2012 and the full file size is somwhere around 4.5gb. the aiming is hard because there is no auto aim and every mech can dash in every direction and jump/ float in the air. This is not a twitch shooter like cod, 1v1 fights can last up to 15 seconds of continuous fire if both sides use cover and keeping on target is not something easily done without aim assist. The mechs are jittery and slower than expected when turning because the lore says that they are all repurposed industrial mechs that rumble around the battle field doing something they were not designed to do. that being said, you can turn down or turn off the jittering and bouncing around in the settings.

All in all, this was exactly what i expected the game to be. Fights are intense, maps are small varied enough for 12 guys to get into nonstop fights and duel at range. they have multiple gametypes available from tdm to ctf and a horde mode too.

The gameplay is simple, and the multiplayer is just not that good for me as it has modes I've seen before. At least it was free, so I didn't have to waste my money. Expand
