A beautifully executed stealth game. [May 2016, p.76]

This first taste of Hitman's new path offers us one of the best locations in the series, with lots of freedom and many environments to explore. A promising new start, even if the overall story is just barely hinted at; we'll have to wait for the next chapters to see if it's got a great plot too.

Overall, Hitman shows a lot of promise for the future, but unless the prospect of saving £3.98 right now seems thrilling to you, buying The Full Experience is a bit silly at this point.

Hitman tries an interesting balance of stuffing a lot into a little, but doesn’t exactly pull it off with elegance.

The gameplay itself is engaging and invigorating, perfectly capturing the tone of previous entries in the series. The current package is significantly lacking, but regarding gameplay, Hitman is shaping up to be one of the best games to date. Sadly numerous performance issues hinder the game's potential, but never affect gameplay in a significant way.

All in all, Hitman is a very promising start to the reboot series.

This is a solid start for IO, but it still needs to do a lot to convince us that this release model has more worth to the player than the traditional ‘release a finished game’ method we’ve grown to love and appreciate.

When looking at the user score of 3 it becomes blatantly obvious that most of the people who rated this game haven't even played it.

So i will ask you if you are considering getting the game do you enjoy small sandboxes, with considerable amounts of variation and replay-ability. Are you a stealth fanatic who is always on the edge of their seat to perfectly pull off their kill. if the answer is yes to the above, stop wasting your time and buy Hitman

From playing the first mission there is tonnes to do even in limited space. From more passive kills such as plastic explosives and headshots to more carefully calculated "accidents". Patience is well rewarded, and is well deserved as mastering maps takes a considerable amount of time, skill and luck in order to get each job done successfully.

Hitman Paris is the first part of the new episodic hitman series.
You’re introduced with a prelude that introduces the story and agent 47 you’re are sent through a brief tutorial with a final test to let you play with your skills.
Much like the past hitman games, there are multiple ways to kill your targets, you can collect poison, add it to a food or drink, use explosives, mess with objects, and to get to various sections of a map you of course have to steal disguises…
This is where things get a little frustrating…
Disguises will almost always give you away if you’re too close to npcs wearing the same outfit as you, which makes sense since you would think they would recognize their coworkers, but the frustration comes in because in some locations only certain uniforms are allowed without you just getting shot at,
which kind of defeats the purpose of a disguise,
Either get shot at as soon as you trespass or power walk from someone who find you suspicious until they shoot you
And you can’t really turn this into a 3rd person shooter like you could in absolution, because 3 shots and you’re dead…
if you raise any suspicion at all you’re surrounded…
This could maybe be fixed if they only become suspicious if you stick around for a while rather than just stay in their line of sight...
    Which is another frustration...
The first 2 maps are crawling with enemies, everyone has someone watching them….
You can’t really tell if you’re in someone’s line of sight until it’s too late…
I’m actually almost 100% sure that you’re in someone’s line of sight at all times
enemies for the most part just stand there, which leaves your stealth combat options practically useless…
you’re almost forced to use environmental opportunities
I feel handcuffed to trying to beat the game the way it wants me to, rather than feeling like I’m being dropped into an area with a few tools to do as I please….
And when I say area, I mean area…
You can buy the game upfront for $60, buy the first pat for $15 and every episode afterwards for $10
And for that $15 initially you get to create contracts to challenge the online community (fair warning though, a crappy internet connection isn’t going to cut it), 2 story contract missions and a tutorial.
That’s right, hitman Paris is One. Single. Mission.
This game relies on replay value.
The tutorial makes this clear by actually making you replay the tutorial a different way.
And the trophies make this clear by asking you to try and complete all of the different opportunities.
This is what they want you to do.
Take this one map and take out your targets in as many ways as you can.
I will say though that the map is crawling with life, it is really cool to explore the massive event going on that is this Paris fashion show, and figuring out how you’re going to pull off assassinating 2 targets and escaping without being killed yourself….
Especially with how difficult and annoying the enemies in and around every corner can make it
    You’re up for a stealthy challenge here…
While I personally don’t find myself replaying the same map to change my approach over and over..
Or to even take out a different target
I can see how fans of the stealth genre could enjoy such a thing
    I giver Hitman Paris a 7.5/10

I recommend you wait until 2017 and buy the full game. As it stands you can choose the Intro Pack, or buy the Intro Pack/Upgrade and Hitman. II recommend you wait until 2017 and buy the full game. As it stands you can choose the Intro Pack, or buy the Intro Pack/Upgrade and Hitman. I did the latter. Essentially Intro is 3 missions, Upgrade is some new looks. And Hitman is the season pass. It has typical Hitman game play, but it has it's issues.

    1. You have to be online to play. That means XB1 Live, then Square Enix servers. SE servers are down as I write this review. I think this is a bad policy for what is essentially a single player game.
    2. This is not what I call a full game release. I paid full price for it. Granted they will release more content, which I won't have to pay for later. But there wasn't enough meat here for me to even remember the game in April. When it's next installation comes out.
    3. It is buggy. When I reloaded after a mistake it got lagged out , and this happened several times. It also froze and forced me to reboot during one of it's many long loading screens.
    4. It doesn't have difficulty settings. I am a casual and it felt tough for me. But I imagine a great FPS person would be bored. I need easy. They need hardcore.

It's not all bad though. They are releasing new things every couple of months? They have contracts you can create for other players. Basically it seems you play through the 3 missions, mark targets and players can try out your mission. It looks like they will have other features. Probably a PVP thing from the looks of it. Thus the reason they are probably forcing you to be always online. But for my money it's not worth the $64 bucks after taxes I paid. If you buy just the intro you'll probably be more happy. But I can't imagine it will take most more than a day to master everything.

I thought Square Enix would release a full featured Hitman game, and to keep us busy would release regular DLC with new missions. But this is just 3 missions. Most will be done in a day or 2. And Hitman will be collecting dust until April. When you will probably play a day or 2 and then wait for another month or 2. So essentially you will be paying to have them continue development of the game. And the full experience won't be there until sometime next year. Wait until then. If you buy it now, you will probably feel ripped off. It's only the future content that kept me from giving this game a 3 or less.

Having said that, the Intro Pack which technically is only one slice of complete game delivers engaging game-play that invites to revisit each level and play differently each time. While episodic nature of this game is a major turn-off, this little "slice" of game is not bad at all. It may feel dated in 2016 because of animation and graphics but it delivers on the promise to play and become a deadly hero. I don't think that developers wanted us to carry to much about story, plot and reason to assassinate your targets but they hope for you to keep replaying this game over and over again. I've got bored about 2 different plays but I am definitively exited to see what the next "episode" will bring.
In summary, I would like to stress that this form of releasing game shows poor decision on publisher on many levels.
