    Just Cause 4 is another solid entry in a franchise that continues to bring me hours of over-the-top, hilarious action. It doesn’t do enough to evolve the franchise, and doesn’t make enough use of the new weather effects, but the new tools available to Rico and the improvements in customization options is well-worth the price of entry.

    Despite issues in several areas, Just Cause is ultimately about the scale of its action moments over which players have complete control, and the freeform sandbox in which players run amok, and to these ends Just Cause 4 is the best in the series.

    Just Cause 4 is easily the best game in the series, seamlessly combining its freedom of experimentation with its signature, action-packed concept. The addition of extreme weather effects, together with the game’s redefined functionalities, go hand in glove to produce wildly entertaining gameplay opportunities from the get-go. Unfortunately, the game’s weak story and its grindy structure ultimately pulls it just shy of greatness.

    Just Cause has always done, and still does, one thing very well, but it has long lost its novelty and desperately needs something - a reboot, a visual upgrade, a good story. Adding interface and systems complexity does nothing to make core experience more compelling or less familiar. Bugs and opaque mechanisms aside, fans who love the Just Cause games for their unadorned mayhem and destruction will find it once again, but it is hard to imagine anyone coming away excited for another sequel.

    Whether it is fatigue or poor implementation, Just Cause 4 doesn’t feel like a true sequel. The issues I had with the third game have been fixed, but I still fell off this game much faster than I had anticipated. I adored the second game, dealt with the third one, but this fourth entry just lost its appeal far too quickly. It might be time to rethink and restructure the series, or perhaps move on to a new idea.

    Just Cause 4 is a fun game full of explosions and crazy action typically seen in Hollywood movies, beyond that there is nothing. Its graphic section is horrible, although it is mitigated by the physics engine and the global performance of the game.

    Even among games that would deign to call themselves “destructive sandboxes,” few games let you break and blow stuff up like Just Cause, but Just Cause 4 doesn’t go there unless you force it too.

    Being a Just Cause 3 fan, I was excited to get the 4th installment. What a disappointment. You no longer go into bases to destroy thereBeing a Just Cause 3 fan, I was excited to get the 4th installment. What a disappointment. You no longer go into bases to destroy there infrastructure, you go throughout the region, destroy things to get "army of chaos", which then gives you ability for troops to overrun an area. After destroying a section it just respawns and is back the way it was in some cases just minutes after leaving it it destroyed. It's boring. The only good things are the improvements to the grappling hook. But additional changes to the menu screens can start you off a bit slower because of a new things to learn. Overall this is a huge disappointment. I find it interested that just 2 days ago there were almost no positive reviews. Everyone gave this 0,1 or 2. Now there are plenty of 10s and 9 ratings. I'm guessing employees of Avalanche Studios or Square Enix purhaps. Game has potential, but don't buy it now, wait 6 months for the price to go down and hopefully more content. I got in on sale for $42 on xbox live. This is at best a $30 game in it's current state. That's being generous.… Expand

Some would say that boats not producing wake (that's not even the worst of the water) is bad. But compared to everything else this 'game' has to offer, it's nothing.
