Wastelands is great because it marks a real turning point in the story and offers an ending that promises to seriously test the Diaz brother’s resolve.

Life is Strange 2: Episode 3 - Wastelands is one of the best chapters in the franchise with an absolute dedication to the development of the characters and our relationship with them, with decisions that seem to have an impact and a great soundtrack.

The environment is lovingly rendered down to the most minute details, and it paints a full and clear picture of what life is like with your makeshift community in the California forest.

Life Is Strange 2 – Episode 3 won’t keep you busy that much. But you’ll have to make many decisions and all the choices really held shaping the two antagonists. A moving and well written piece.

Life is Strange 2 Episode 3 casts its net too wide when it comes to the new cast of characters and the gameplay lacked the light puzzle solving and charming moments the series is known for. Fortunately, it manages to deliver an emotional and shocking ending that lays the foundation for exciting episodes to come, this just wasn’t one of them. Much like the Diaz boys, I felt like I was just passing through.

There's no question that Sean and Daniel leave Life is Strange 2's third episode with more scars than they began with. Scars have a way of robbing innocence and dispiriting the spirited. It's no wonder Daniel is disillusioned. But that headstrong attitude leaves Wastelands feeling like an episode without much development. Deep in the California forest, the weed is growing but that's about it.

In my review of the previous episode my main gripe was that things didn’t move quick enough and it was obviously a bit of a ‘filler’ episode before things got moving. Well, my hopes were quashed as I starting playing this episode – it got even slower.

The location is also not changing.

Overall this seems like a desperate attempt to go back to the LiS gameplay after the fist two episodes where a complete disappointment.

They seem to have succeeded in that damage control, but overall this is once again a rather weak entry into the franchise because as with S2EP1 and 2 the game lacks direction and story.
