Life is Strange 2 represents a sophistication of Dontnod's storytelling capabilities because it effectively adds up and weighs moral decisions to truly influence the narrative outcome. Every ending comes with some degree of complication -- that much was to be expected -- but it's satisfying because they're all befitting of the characters you molded. Whichever direction you took Sean and Daniel's lives, chances are you'll feel responsible for their fates. It's personal. Because it's personal, it's memorable. That's about the utmost positive quality for this style of story.

Life is Strange 2 closes its plot with a remarkable last episode that along with the third is the best that this title offers. After a somewhat unsettling start and a disappointing fourth episode, Dontnod has closed the Diaz brothers' adventure with a very good ending.

Saying goodbye to the Diaz brothers is as difficult as it was to leave Chloe and Max in the original Life Is Strange, which is a testament to the extraordinary strength of the game's character building.

The last episode was another disappointment, this one is slightly better but as with the very first episode the French developer is unable to address politics with the honesty and nuance they require, which of course once again takes away from the story they are trying to tell.

It is funny that after saying for years that they do not want to define anything regarding Max and Chloe they caved hard and spent time on doing them justice and updating the player on how they are. Products always have to fail in the market before developers get off their high horse and actually start caring about what the people that buy their games want.

This does not save this game from being a terrible entry in the Life is Strange franchise, but it does give hope that the publisher finally understood why the first game was so popular.

I feel rather cheated in some ways, the first 4 episodes were exceptional however, the final installment seemed dull, and quite franklyI feel rather cheated in some ways, the first 4 episodes were exceptional however, the final installment seemed dull, and quite frankly rushed. Square Enix know we are invested in the story and can almost guarantee we will pay for episode 5, regardless of its quality, which as a big Life Is Strange fan on this occasion was poor. Expand
