Music aside, overall this year’s madden is a definite buy if you are a fan of the series or a fan of the NFL.

Madden 17 is probably the best American football game ever made. It does not feature a lot of innovation compared to previous games, but the ones that it has are perfect.

New features may need a little more balancing to be effective online, but overall, Madden NFL 17 is the most polished and enjoyable Madden yet, magnificently avoiding a potential regression after the successes of the year prior.

Madden NFL 17 refines the gameplay and the structure of his predecessor. It's a rich chapter, that can finally say goodbye to chronic flaws of the series.

Madden NFL 17 is not a revolutionary iteration of the series, but it polishes the finer details of an already well-rounded experience instead. In other words, Madden NFL 17 is like the New England Patriots: they deliver year in and year out but that isn't precisely fresh or surprising.

If EA Tiburon's goal with Madden 17 was to build upon the solid foundation set by the last two iterations, the studio mostly succeeded by fine tuning its production values on and off the field while also focusing on its strengths in its Ultimate Team and Franchise.

NFL 17 builds off of the base that we've seen established over the last couple of years, for better or worse.

I played this game early through EA Access. I thoroughly enjoyed the 10 hours I received. Player animations were much more realistic. The runI played this game early through EA Access. I thoroughly enjoyed the 10 hours I received. Player animations were much more realistic. The run game has received much needed attention. Defense is actually playable again. The aggressive catch has been tuned way down. The only reason I gave this a 9 is that Ultimate Team still feels like a money grab. Great game overall. Expand

I got this game the day it was released on August 23, 2016 for $60 on the Xbox One. Madden is a game based off the NFL that EA Sports published. If you are a first timer they have a skill trainer mode to teach you the fundamentals and even the more complex things about football. That is a great part of Madden and is how I have learned almost all my basic training with reading the defence. You also learn about the route patterns and running the ball. They teach you the basics too, like spin moves, juke moves, hurdle, acceleration, fundamental for tackling, and my favorite the hit stick. Once you learn the basics you can play their game modes (franchise, MUT, and Draft Champions).
Franchise is one of the many game modes you can be an actually player, a custom player, a coach, or a owner. Personally the player franchises aren’t my favorite, but that’s because I can’t control the whole team. My favorite is the coaching franchise I control my team and I can build the team how I want to. Owner you control everything that happens in the franchise, team relocation, jersey prices, concession prices, ticket prices, and you can even make your team a new stadium. With the updates in franchise you can play games in a short amount of time with “Play the Moments”. It breaks down the game by only playing crucial third downs, two-minute drills, redzone moments, and more.
Now I'm going to talk about MUT or Madden Ultimate Team. In this game mode not much has changed, but you create your own team with players from around the league past or present. At the beginning they didn’t have a season mode for this instead you just played games which was weird, but at the time I’m writing this they have updated and have a season mode. MUT can be hard if you're not naturally good at Madden because you start at rock bottom and have to work your way to the top and to be good right away you will have to spend a lot of money on the player packs. Player packs is where you get players, or you can get your players from the auction block.
Overall I felt like this is a great game all the stadiums look beautiful the only problem I have with it is that it started to feel choppy when I was offline and I was struggling my run game, which shouldn’t happen. Also almost nothing change in Draft champions from Madden 16, there wouldn’t be much to change anyway. Otherwise this game is great for first timers and Madden veterans that want to play and take your team all the way. If you want any more details about Madden 17 leave a comment and I’ll get back to you.

But as youTo be fair right off the bat, the graphics and presentation are a 9-10 out of 10. You play the first couple games, it seems good. But as you go on, you realize all the BS still involved. First and HUGE issue, getting hit while you throw the ball will always result in a fumble. 8/10 times at least. 3rd and 5? throw a quick pass for a 6-8 yard gain WIDE OPEN, your receiver drops it. A lot of what happens in this game is COMPLETELY out of your hands. They made the defense A LOT better. Playing on pro, way too easy, playing on All-Pro and you feel like you cant do a single thing. i admit that after some patches this could be a great game, but right now its pretty bad. im in a franchise with some very good player (im decent not great but not bad) and we all throw AT LEAST 2-3 picks a game not to mention fumbles. A lot to be fixed but the presentation is top of the line! Expand

It's definitely a good game and I play it a lot but a update could fix everything. Expand

Not a good game. The game takes too much control. Too many balls thrown into the dirt at the most inopportune times, blocked fieldNot a good game. The game takes too much control. Too many balls thrown into the dirt at the most inopportune times, blocked field goals/punts, dropped passes, etc. You know when these events are going to happen to. If you're playing well and up big, the game forces ugly things to happen. You may argue that it's just EA trying to make the game challenging, however, rubber banding as such does not reward good play. Good reads, audibles, play calling, gets beat by the system because of such effect. It doesn't make the game fun when your RB fumbles 3 straight possessions because your up 2 tds in the 4th qt and the game needs to make things interesting. It's just annoying. Expand

Anyone who says this is a good game is delusional it's terrible the players are on ice skates and stif as a board until they actually collideAnyone who says this is a good game is delusional it's terrible the players are on ice skates and stif as a board until they actually collide then they look like they've lost all control of every motor function in their bodies! It's utterly ridiculous to see a defender charge in then go limp like a noodle. Doesn't simulate football. So I pop in APF 2k8 and still to this day the on field action as leaps and bounds ahead of Madden in every way including graphics. I find myself watching every replay in APF 2k8 it inspires me to play it over and over because of how true the animations and shear football mechanics look and feel! It's amazing that Madden still can't say their better than a 10 year old game. So like a sheep every year I believe the hype about madden that they will deliver and iit NEVER happens. So I've decided to play a fictitious league in APF 2k8 and boycott the NFL until Maddens monopoly of ripping off the fans expires in 2 more years! Anyone who is reading this go back and play APF 2k8 and be amazed.....to the uniform creator all the way to the stadiums and the gameplay it embarrasses this garbage that EA sells! Expand
