An excellent remaster that stays as great as the original game thanks to the work on graphics and the quality of the original proposal.

If stealth-based games are not your cup of tea, then Mark of the Ninja is unlikely to sway your mind. On the other hand, for those who prefer slow-paced gameplay with an ample amount of stealth mechanics, it will deliver an exceptionally enjoyable experience.

It's been years since it debuted but Mark of the Ninja is as much fun now as it's ever been so if you've never had the pleasure to play it then getting this new Remastered version is a good excuse to finally do so.

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered is stands out as an indie title for sure.

What makes this game stand out is - the cartoonish art, enticing sound atmosphere, you get to choose how you want to experience the game - for example, you can take all your enemies down loud and brutal, or stealth your way through the stages), the game offers a set of challenges and collectibles for every stage that don't feel too overwhelming.

The platforming feels nice and tight as it should be, you can choose from a nice selection of ninja paths and gear, the combat and stealth system are very sophisticated (simple, yet effective).

On the flip side, the game could have added more AI (you face the same enemies over and over again), some stages feel like a re-hash of the previous, and the story could be a bit longer and more complex.

With all that in mind, this indie is a sound 8.

The cartoon art style ticked a lot of boxes for me and when it combined with the sound design it gave the game tons of charm in my opinion. IThe cartoon art style ticked a lot of boxes for me and when it combined with the sound design it gave the game tons of charm in my opinion. I was very impressed with the controls that had been implemented because they remained fluid and responsive throughout my time with the game. There’s quite a bit of content for you to get to grips with and the fantastic story means playing it again and again never gets tedious. The stealth mechanics in the game have been done to perfection and when you combine this with the other elements the fun and enjoyability is almost endless. Technically the game holds up really well throughout and I haven’t come across any problems at all. There’s a great deal of freedom to be had in the game which means not only are you satisfied at all times but it also stays fresh and interesting as well. Sometimes the AI act a little dumb which can harm the immersion levels a little bit every now and then. All in all unfortunately I didn’t end up playing Mark of the Ninja when it first released back in 2012 so without a doubt I was chomping at the bit to try out Mark of the Ninja: Remastered because I’ve literally heard nothing but good things about it. This is a game that’s right up my alley as well because I love anything to do with stealth and after experiencing the fantastic stealth elements in this game I came to the conclusion quite quickly that this is definitely one of the best game’s the genre has to offer. From it’s presentation to its fantastic story this game is packed full of charm and not once did I get frustrated or bored and this is very impressive because the game boasts quite a lot of content. In fact the game is that good that my only gripe was that the AI was a little dumb occasionally but I was easily able to look past this because it didn’t happen very often. Without a doubt then Mark of the Ninja: Remastered gets a massive recommendation from me because it’s pretty much perfect in every way and to say that I enjoyed my time with the game would definitely be a massive understatement.
