In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

    Embark on an epic voyage
At the centre of the galaxy lies a irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

    Find your own destiny
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

    Share your journey
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

An astounding achievement. Hello Games deserve credit for creating one of the best games of this console generation - even if it did take a couple of years longer than planned.

Don’t be guided by the game’s daunting history. No Man’s Sky is now a near-outstanding experience that sits in a league of its own. Despite some issues with the game’s textures, delayed rendering and some unstable framerates, No Man’s Sky is a diverse, deep and ambitious player-shaped adventure that’s constantly intriguing.

Finally available on Xbox One, during the last two years No Man's Sky has become a huge exploration game, still flawed by technical and design problems, but totally worth a ride.

While features like multiplayer and base-building certainly put more proverbial asses in seats, they're also the least memorable additions to an otherwise thoughtful experience.

Wonderful for exploration but has some issues with resource management. [Oct 2018, p.75]

Two years after its initial release, No Man’s Sky have developed into a whole different game. Tons of new content, several updates and patches for the online section, more features for crafting system, new missions, and many, many more added features have made NMS a valuable title.

Technically, No Man’s Sky delivers the idea Hello Games promised — a massive sci-fi playground for you to explore. However, once you’ve spent some time poking around, it’s hard not to notice that the playground feels fairly empty, even two years later and after massive content additions.

Beware of reviews from the old version of the game!!

The game on launch 2 years ago was rocky, to say the least. It a put of people of people off from trying the game since.

Which is a shame, as the subsequent updates added a lot to the game, and refined much of the gameplay.

Now the 'NEXT' update has landed, the biggest one yet, it overhauls a lot of gameplay that people weren't happy with, and adds a ton of new and awesome content.

One of the best games I've played!

Fast forward to today and I am thrilled, so much has been added to the game and the planets themselves are no longer recognizable. There is true scale now, mountains are ominous, forests can be dense and the creatures are as ridiculous as usual.

My favorite addition has been the 3rd person camera. I have been using first person when on the ground and 3rd person when flying and being able to see your ship while you fly is a wonderful addition.

I have encountered minor bugs and glitches, so the game would have normally received a 9.5/10, but the enjoyment factor is off the charts. Truly an incredible game. What an effort from Hello Games to see this through and get their vision closer to reality.

No Man's Sky allows you to do just that. The ability to build a nearly unlimited amount of bases (and buildings that are taller than clouds) is incredible. Planting my base next to my friends where we share a common goal of building something epic together is downright special. This game is not for everyone, no game is, but for me it's literally a childhood dream come true. Expand

A fantastic game. I had a little wobble at about 8 hours in, I was beginning to find it frustrating. But After that it came together and now IA fantastic game. I had a little wobble at about 8 hours in, I was beginning to find it frustrating. But After that it came together and now I am at over 130 hours. I have experienced only one crash in all that time. I have experienced bugs, but non have been anything close to game breaking.

I think it's a wonderful, chilled exploration game. I have spent my time almost free of the story and I just dip back into it as and when I wish. The love that has gone into the game is clear and the hours drift by. The game is massive, obviously, and as far as I am concerned a monumental achievement for a small studio, or any studio.

It looks absolutely beautiful on Xbox One X too.

The Developer company, Hello Games had a trouble and rocky start to working on No Man's Sky since its release in 2016. However once that wasThe Developer company, Hello Games had a trouble and rocky start to working on No Man's Sky since its release in 2016. However once that was sorted with multiple updates, and the expansion from PC to PS4 and X-Box One, the biggest update, cleverly titled "NEXT" update has finally launched in mid-2018 and I decided to try the game out on PC and X-Box One with the latter I played in late 2018. And after playing a few hours of it, I have one thing to say about going on cool sci-fi adventures, and that is the fact that "I like it." despite the fact that I play Creative Mode more than survival. With beautiful art styles, many many many planets to explore and potentially settle on with a base, and a great range of missions. Some things are a bit annoying when you haven't got the right material to use as ammo for your blaster which I struggle on but that is probably due to my inexperience with this game.
I have never played Star Fox, but this is the closest that I see myself being in. Exploring, crafting, communicating with the "locals", and even going through some story mission which from at the moment I try to help out an alien who of course crash landed a ship and I try and get the communication signal which connects to that alien and with one of the primary goals is to try and meet up with that alien. With that, being a Freelancer is actually a good thing in a galaxy. I would only explore and resource gather because of those Daily Missions but I say that I can recommend this game to anyone, with the condition of automatically update the game so that the current update is past the "NEXT" update because reviews before that important update was very negative. Customizing your appearance, and even freelancing and doing things with up to 4 friends in a world is actually a fantastic way of adding replay-ability. Some of the controls are a little flunky with certain vehicles and can be modified with the controls but I'm just going to blame on my inexperience. Many first time players would have to get use to that. The clear answer is, the galaxies are endless, so do your own thing in No Man's Sky and be a nomad or a freelancer. There is many different modes to choose from and I enjoy this game. Period.
