Dec 19, 2018We enjoyed Override: Mech City, it's not the best fighting game, but is a solid one. With not many flaws, its determination to make a rendition to all the genre classics make difficult to see in the game something new or original.
-
Dec 5, 2018Override: Mech City Brawl suffers from some minor framerate issues and the occasional character-specific bug that, once present, quite literally puts a stopper on your game. Despite those problems, Override is pleasantly accessible and goes on to provide structural depth, combat diversity, and heaps of action-packed, fun, and exhilarating moments from the get-go. This is one brawler that’s fit for the whole family.
-
Dec 14, 2018It’s acutely aware of its own silliness, even giving you the option to unlock (no, there are no microtransactions here) different colours and ridiculous accessories for your foe.
-
Jan 13, 2019While there’s certainly room for improvement in Override, the game is undeniably fun in an old-school arcade way. It’s not as fast and fluid as classics like Sega’s Virtua On!, but the premise is excellent, the character designs are gorgeous, and the action is addicting.
-
Dec 27, 2018If you're buying Override as a single player game, you'll most likely get bored with it rather quickly like I did. The arcade mode is decent, but it gets boring very quickly. I didn't find the overall gameplay that fun, but I have to admit that the game definitely has a lot of attack variety and the control setup is quite good for choosing between all moves in your arsenal. The game mainly shines when it comes to the amount of match variety you can have while playing with friends.

Official Xbox Magazine UKFeb 27, 2019A lower-tier fighting game that mech fans may nonetheless appreciate.
-
Jan 4, 2019If you’re looking to jump in as a fan of the brawler scene, there are many other options out there that already do the job much better. Unfortunately, with little to keep players interested and overly simplistic options dominating the more complex potential of the game, Override: Mech City Brawl is one fight we’ve already forgotten about.
