Beamdog has taken what seems like an impossible task and actually managed to do it with Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Editions on Xbox One. It’s no small feat to get two gaming classics and be able to translate them to the home console, but they have done so with very little sacrifice.

With the release of Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Editions, Beamdog has once again delivered an experience that will last well over 200 hours combined and produce stories that will captivate your imagination and leave you spellbound. What would normally cost you $49.99 is currently on sale and can be found for only $29.99, which makes this release from Beamdog a must have for anyone who is a fan of RPG games.

These D&D classic games rely so heavily on their storytelling and combat styles and they have aged very well. Both stories are deep and gripping and the combat is just the right level of complex to keep it interesting. The graphics and cutscenes do show their age but for near 20-year-old games, they can still hold their own as must-haves for RPG fans.

This package is worth the price of admission for Planescape Torment alone. It’s a true classic of the genre and something that every western RPG fan should play at least once. Icewind Dale makes for a worthy counterbalance to the package overall and is certainly worth your time if you’re a fan of the Infinity Engine games, particularly if you enjoy the combat. All in all, I can definitely recommend this package for fans of this genre.

Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment are undeniably great games but even with updated graphics and improvements to control schemes, they show their age and are not well suited to home consoles.

One of the best rpg games of all time. Like reading a compelling novel with some action mixed in. Truly grand. Graphics etc dated.

Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Editions are Iconic games from the Dungeons and Dragons Faerun setting brought to console.Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Editions are Iconic games from the Dungeons and Dragons Faerun setting brought to console. Though the two games are both from the same setting and use the same engine, they are entirely different games. Planescape: Torment fits in best with its predecessors as a story-driven narrative focused on exploration and decision making. While Icewind Dale focuses more heavily on its Diablo-like Combat system, giving players intense combat situations to overcome with their vast array of powers. Both games stand side by side with their setting sharing Baldurs Gate games but are at times overlooked standing in Baldurs Gates's long-reaching shadow. Now on the Xbox One, these single-player adventures take you to the edges of the Faerun setting, and challenge players in countless ways from moral decisions to insane combat. Iconic stories from their setting, these two games are included in their entirety with all expansions intact, and countless fixes to gameplay itself. If you are a Dungeons And Dragons fan, from any generation, or a huge fan of great RPGs and Dungeon Crawlers this collection is a must-have in your games library. Let the nostalgia overtake you with these 20-year-old classics, and experience what thousands have for years now from their Xbox One! Expand
