Rare Replay is loaded with gems and classics that by and large have stood the test of time. Modern tweaks and goodies make it all the more worthwhile. It's the best value in gaming, and sets the bar for any compilation going forward.

It's a great trip down memory lane, one that I bet will bring a lot of smiles to faces young and old.

Rare Replay is a fantastic collection of great games, quality is very high and in many cases enhanced by graphical improvements. The section devoted to the ZX Spectrum has mainly historical value, but titles such as Knight Lore and Jetpac manage to surprise even today. The library Xbox 360 must be seen as a bonus and is seen more as an excuse to investigate the potential emulator Xbox One, really incredible. The absence of titles Nintendo is felt quite heavily and some choices, such as insert Killer Instinct Gold, are questionable, but at that price you should not miss this.

Rare Replay is a well-done collection of titles and special features, and is almost as much of a no-brainer purchase for every Xbox One owner as Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
  6. Just as entertaining as playing some of the games is fast-forwarding through the progression of Rare’s work over a period of decades. It’s like watching the evolution of the medium itself.

So, yeah, we've gotten very accustomed to these video-game walks down memory lane. But that doesn't keep this stroll from being a pleasant one.

Rare Replay is a fantastic collection of games with titles such as Conkers Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark and Blast Corps. For me it runs perfectly I've had no problems with it and found it well worth the price. There are features like Rare Revealed which is basically documentary footage about the studios history and and some of their games development.

It's honestly a great testament to how much the Xbox division has changedFirst off, this is the most fun I've had on the Xbox One; period. It's honestly a great testament to how much the Xbox division has changed since the console's initial launch. Could you really see Don Mattrick with his DRM centered, always online and multi media focused dream come out and announce a nostalgic collection of Rare games? No, of course not, he'd rather them have them develop obnoxious Kinect shovel ware. This collection is fundamental evidence of Microsoft's and Phil Spencer's commitment to gamers. However, the sheer amount of nostalgia that this great collection induces has blinded people from various faults that it has, first and foremost is that these games run identical to how they did on their original platforms, down to even the framerate. Now its understandable that not they can't do a Halo 2: Anniversary on all 30 of these games, but maybe an upscale to 60fps 1080p would be nice. In addition to this, you might come across a few optimisation issues on some of the older games, in particular games that did not originate from an Xbox platform. My second main issue with the collection is not what's in it, but rather what's not. This game is marketed as a proud compilation of Rare's most beloved and prestigious games, which, depending on your opinion is or is not true. And why is this? Because classic Rare titles such as GoldenEye 007 and Donkey Kong Country are no where to be found, although, some games including Donkey Kong Country and Star Fox Adventures are understandable as these are flagship Nintendo franchises. Despite these complaints, Rare Replay is a great value full of unforgettable classics, and I would give this amazing collection of classics a 9/10, but something that slightly detracts from the value is Xbox One's backward compatibility feature. As 6 of the games on the collection released on the Xbox 360, if you already owned them you'll be able to play them for free, and, as they will run identical to each other, it multiplies the effect of my first criticism. This means a 5th of the collection you will most likely be able to play for free in a few months, resulting in 5 of those 30 dollars (or your regional equivalent) was spent needlessly. Overall though, this is a great and worthwhile package I totally recommend you buy Expand

It was great to play as Joana Dark in her N64 days and I loved visiting Viva Pinata again. Largely the game is a nice addition to anyone who has played various generations of gaming systems and should be bought at around 40 dollars. The downside is that some of the games are just bad and not very exciting to play. The games that are fun, however, make it well worth playing. Expand

It's a collection of 30 of the best games Rare has ever put out for $30. You can't go wrong here. I literally have nothing negative to say about this game except that I just don't like a few of the games. Which still leaves 27 or so games that are awesome. Probably the single best value for your money this generation. Even if this just had Conker's Bad Fur Day on it alone it would still be worth it as it retails for like $60-100 physical. If you like retro games, you would be stupid to not buy this. Expand
